Burner Assembler /Installer
Under general supervision, installs manufactured and purchased parts, equipment and controls on burners and boilers, including the tack welding of accessory and auxilliary supports. Makes inter-connections between burners, accessory and controls, including piping, tubing and bending conduit. Performs wiring between burner, control panel and controls in accordance with a diagram. Installs pressure and temperature gauges, gas piping, gas valves and regulators on boilers. Uses electric arc welding equipment, welds brackets on to boiler. Must have a strong electrical/wiring background, electrical wiring is 75% of the time. Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, work orders and schematics. This position works inside the plant. Union environment. Position is 1st shift 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, OT as needed, should be flexible to work 3rd shift if the position goes 3rd shift.

Assumes responsibility for effectively completing boiler burner startups and maintenance.
Troubleshoots malfunctions in electrical circuits as necessary. Inspects wiring, checks connections and power sources, and logs repair needs.
Understands basic one pipe, and two pipe steam systems and hydronic systems.
Basic pump repair knowledge and skills, including but not limited to circulating pumps and oil pumps.
Installs and maintains motors, wiring, and all electrical equipment including control work for lighting, motors, and instrumentation.
Restores power when failures have occurred and restarts and resets equipment as necessary.
Basic boiler burner troubleshooting skills, electrical and mechanical.
Follows all safety rules and procedures, and operates electrical equipment in accordance with established safety regulations and department policies.
General knowledge of domestic water systems including but not limited to instantaneous hot water heaters, tank type water heaters, booster pump systems, and domestic mixing valves, electrical and pneumatic.
Knowledge of various Honeywell, Fireye and other burner contols.
Knowledge of burner oil systems.
General knowledge of various burners such as Gordon Piatt, Powerflame, Webster, and Iron Fireman as examples.
Assumes responsibility for maintaining related records.
Documents test and inspection dates and results, including but not limited to fire and adjust printouts, amperage readings on motors, boiler room conditions.
Fills out time ticket appropriately with all required information such as material used, correct hours, and any further work needed.

Job Description 2nd Shift Position 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.Job Summary Processes quality products safely and efficiently by setting up, operating and performing simple programming of a Burner Operator. Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities * Identify paperwork / work order documents and make a mental map of how each order will fit on table, group orders by thickness; prioritize according to supervisor’s input, 2nd runs, customer will calls or other requirements.
Locate material on floor, locate material in staging, home location or plate drop racks, select / hook up proper material handling equipment: chains assembly with plate hooks, or plate dog, magnet, spreader bar, find and place dunnage on table as needed
Select proper tips for burner torch depending on material to be cut and desired edge.
Program CNC computer per work order instructions, clean scrap slag off of finished parts as they are cut, stack parts on skid or place in 3 yd hopper for transporting to tumbler slag cleaning machine.
After cleaning all slag on both sides, place parts on skid for packaging, noting customer unloading requirements – max skids, etc.
Shrink wrap as needed, band material with steel banding, label skid with order number, customer name, PO number if required.
