MS or PhD in a quantitative discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science. If BS only, 2-5 years of hands-on experience developing machine learning models.
Experience in Deep Learning: DNN, CNN, RNN/LSTM, GAN or other auto encoder (AE).
Ability to develop and debug in Python, Java, C or C++. Proficient in git version control. R and Matlab are also relevant.

Machine Operator I / II 3Rd Shift -Pack
The packaging production line Machine Operator performs a variety of functions including but not limited to the operation of high speed packaging equipment, completion of daily production and/or QA paperwork. Ensures work is completed in a safe manner and within the quality parameters established.
Responsible for safe operation of packaging production line(s) to deliver a product that meets the customers' expectations. Follows Safety and Quality Assurance rules and procedures.
Sets packaging machine to appropriate specifications as found in computer or specification logs, and ensures production line has appropriate equipment, configuration, and materials such as x-ray machines, adequate conveyor adjustments, correct packaging film
Inspects equipment for safety and use by all equipment employees.
Sets up scales, checkweigher and metal detector correctly and monitors their operation during shift
Ensures daily production is ran according to sequence stated in the batch cards
Operates laptop computer to produce labels or placards for each run
Ensures lot numbers from packaging materials and blended product are recorded on batch card

This opportunity is being offered by National Aerospace Solutions, the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. AEDC operates more than 55 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in six states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization and an important national resource.
AEDC’s mission is to conduct developmental test and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, ground and flight test. NAS currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Design Engineer for Machine Design to join our team in Tullahoma, TN.
Mechanical Design Engineers design, evaluate, analyze, and assist in the fabrication and installation of hardware across the complex, including process piping systems, drive systems, mechanisms, and test hardware. Mechanical design engineers work closely with test and system engineers in development of design requirements and ensuring proposed designs meet those requirements. Close coordination with manufacturing is required to ensure economic and feasible designs.
Some specific tasks associated with this type of work include (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Develop concepts for new hardware and provide thermal, structural, flow, or any other required analysis to support the proposed design. Evaluate the analysis results for suitability relative to applicable codes and standards.
- Designing one-of-a-kind of mechanisms, wind tunnel models, and test fixtures including associated stress analysis.
- Provide engineering support to the appropriate craft workforce to facilitate maintenance and repair of existing systems. Evaluate existing hardware for safety, security and potential for improvement.
- Work with the design team (drafters, checkers, etc.) to produce complete design packages, including detailed drawings, analysis reports, and equipment specifications, and be capable of communicating the details of these design packages to the remaining project team (system engineers, test engineers, project managers, craft supervisors, etc.)
- Coordinate with the appropriate system engineer, craft supervisor, and/or work planner to ensure that hardware is fabricated and installed in accordance with the approved design package.
- It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university plus 6 – 9 years of progressive and relevant experience in machine design, mechanism design, and stress analysis.
- Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
- Experience selecting automation, gears, bearings, drives, etc.
- Experience use finite element analysis (FEA) software

Aerospace- Machine Parts Programmer 1St Shift (Monday- Friday 7Am-3:30Pm)-(Internal Entry-Level Applicants Only)
As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Machine Parts Programmer- (Entry-level position) to join our team. The ideal candidate will plan numerical control programs to control contour path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
Determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.
Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine parts.
Write instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine.
Write program of machine instructions in symbolic language to encode numerical control tape or direct numerical control database to regulate movement of machine along cutting path.
Revise program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.
Observe operation of machine on trial run to prove programmed instructions.
Follow all safety guidelines established by the company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
Collaborate with external and internal customers, including Manufacturing and Quality Assurance staff, to resolve issues and meet customer specifications.
Work independently, follow instructions.
Concentrate for long periods of time while tolerating regular interruptions throughout the day.
Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
Skill in interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to the aerospace industry.
Ability to read and interpret aerospace documents.
Ability to take directions from lead and supervisor to complete tasks assigned.
Ability to provide direction and guidance.
Ability to work in a shared office environment.
Ability to read, write, communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology.
High school diploma or equivalent and applicable training classes for programming.
Five (2) years CNC machine operation experience. .
