Job Description / Duties:
Completion of assignments relative to the maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment within industrial boiler utilizing First Class prime skills. Perform tasks in other incidental craft areas as assigned. Will be held accountable for quality and quantity of work. Participate in training programs as assigned to maintain and or upgrade skills. Understand and comply with the SONS / Site work rules, the Code of Conduct and other applicable policies and procedures. Ability to coordinate work, function as a member of a team to complete tasks. Communicate job status by means of written/ oral to interested parties.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be physically able to work at elevations, lift and carry 50 lbs, enter and work in a confined space, wear fresh air and a respirator, and be able to work occasional overtime and shift work.
- Must be able to perform physically-active assignments including work on high structures, work in confined spaces, outdoors in all weather conditions. Work may require the use of fresh air equipment and respirators. Overtime and temporary shift work may be required.

Hammers, flame-cuts, files grinds irregular edges of sections or structural parts to facilitate fitting edges together.

Minimum of 5 years as pipefitter/welder. Must be able to perform TIG and shielded metal arc welding on high pressure stainless steel and carbon steel process piping per ASME Code. Must pass welding test on GMAQ and SMAW according to R Stamp Procedure.
Possess proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment. The Deputy Communications Director, under the day-to-day supervision of the Communications Director (but reporting directly to the International President), will work with a small team of communications professionals at the union’s Kansas City, Kansas, headquarters. There is a strong possibility of a paid relocation to offices in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, within a year of accepting this position. Substantial travel is required to provide news/photographic/video coverage of organizational events and projects.

EDUCATION, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Repairs and maintains machinery using hand tools, power tools, & precision measuring and testing instruments. Engages in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machines and equipment. Includes pipe-fitting, millwright and boilermaker skills.
Three to five years of experience in a related environment performing tasks involving pump, tank, air handling, HVAC, air compressor, PLC and forklift repair experience; maintenance in a batch manufacturing setting; facility maintenance experience, new equipment installation experience and service history records formulation and maintenance experience. Familiarity with chemicals and chemical hazards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL Job Functions (fundamental job duties):
Is aware of and conforms to all company safety rules and regulations to the maintenance group.
Develops P.M. procedures for all in plant equipment and administers those procedures.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
Welding equipment as needed.
Must be able to operate a fork truck; work with a full respirator; lift 50 pounds up to 100 times per day without assistance; read, understand and apply information from blueprints, maintenance and technical manuals to maintain existing equipment.
Administers the preventive maintenance program tasks.
This position is responsible for the overall accomplishment of facility and production corrective and preventative maintenance activities; procurement and inventory of maintenance shop items; and coordination of repair activities and services from outside vendors. Employee also installs, maintains and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures and pipe and electrical systems in manufacturing establishments. This position must be skilled in the following area: mechanical, electrical, HVAC.

Chemours currently has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Memphis facility. The site is located 10 miles north of downtown Memphis. The Memphis Plant Maintenance Mechanic accomplishes, with a minimum of supervision, a wide variety of maintenance assignments. This is a day shift position during hours that will accommodate full interface time with business unit maintenance and planning and scheduling (currently 7:45am to 4:15 pm). The employee must be able to work overtime, ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs, wear industrial safety equipment; hard hat, gloves (both leather and chemical), hearing protection, FR clothing, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, goggles, respirators, chemical suit, lift 50 lbs., stand on his/her feet for extended periods of time and be physically flexible including bending, rotating, kneeling. Responsibilities include:
Safely maintain all plant equipment, such as valves, pumps, agitators, fans, conveyors, pipework etc. per oral and written instructions
Assist in the implementation and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, performing scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as required.
Interpret single line diagrams, piping schematics and mechanical drawings
Troubleshoot and dismantle defective machines/equipment and installs new or repaired equipment or parts.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
Safely perform work outdoors during all types of weather conditions
Model appropriate behavior for: Safety Health Environment/Project Safety Management and Ethics and Core Values
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
Ability to work flexible schedules including an on-call schedule, evenings and weekends as needed
Must have demonstrated human relations ability to show teamwork and resolving problems together; ability to develop effective working relationships with outside vendors, contractors and customers as well as internal personnel. Other general maintenance work as needed

Communicate status of equipment repairs / equipment issues to team (daily)
Manage completion of Pre-Startup reviews maintenance punch list items Proficiency in the use of the following computer applications
