Carpenter / Cabinetmaker
SUMMARY: Responsible for plans, layout, fabrication, assembling, installation, and repair of wood, plastic, laminate, metal parts and other areas as noted by CAD drawings. This position requires a strong attention to detail, quality and thoroughness.
· Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, and product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing wood, plastic and metal parts.
· Utilize various types of woodworking machinery, stationary and hand tools.
· Assemble case and cabinetry to specification.
· Install and assembles supportive framework according to blueprints.
Quality, Repair and Maintenance (20%)
· Inspect assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.
· Repair and maintain wood and metal products.
· Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and develop alternative solutions where necessary.
· Communicate changes and progress including project timeline and budget
· Document materials used (and unused) as indicated on blueprints to maintain inventory.
Education & Experience
A minimum of 4 years of job-related experience preferably in a construction or manufacturing production environment.

Principal Duties and
Essential Functions: 1. Learns entry-level technical skills and knowledge, regulatory requirements and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking.
Continues to develop technical competency and problem solving abilities to allow progression to the technician level. 2. Using standard safety and operating procedures, design/engineering drawings, tools and other materials (laminates, veneers, cap strips), develops proficiency in the preparation and making of furniture. 3. Utilizes the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off completed work. 4.
Complies with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, uses personal protective equipment; ensures aircraft interior is protected. Assists in the development and implementation of related initiatives.
Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED. Wood working, wood finishing or auto body & painting experience in a technical environment or completion of Technical Certificate in cabinet making preferred and/or completion in current year youth apprenticeship program, in area of expertise.
