DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all activities associated with helping running the Printing Press Machine including helping with the setup, operation and cleanup.
IDEAL Candidates: (a plus)
· Prior work experience in the corrugated industry
· 3 months’ experience as a Printing Press Helper
· 3 months’ experience in the Press and Finishing Department
Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear for 12 hours on a daily basis.
Frequently is required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally required to sit
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Vision abilities; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions in a warehouse environment.

We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated individuals to join our Fry Team! This is a hands-on position in which the incumbent will be trained to learn the operations of a printing press. The Press Helper's main duties involve the handling of all printed material. Some of the duties include but are not limited to the bundling, skidding and tagging of all good copies, weighing of bad copied, performing duties as described in the daily job assignments and assisting the press crews in other ways as directed. Other responsibilities are coordinating the production schedule with the Pressman, setting up and operating the stacker for the production run, setting a trim box and scale up for each run, keeping the paper segregated by type; tagging trim boxes according to established procedures; assisting in setting up jobs; continuously inspecting signatures for bad folds, gusssets, cut-off marks, scumming, tears, etc. Performing assigned weekly maintenance, washing blankets, rollers , ink fountains, etc. Keeping the work area organized and clean; assisting the Roll Tender in webbing up the press; at the end of each shift, emptying oil pans, emptying trash and filling filling solvent cans. The incumbent will typically work a twelve hour shifts during which they can expect to be standing or walking over ninety percent of the time. Duties require working in close proximity to moving production machinery and subjection to noise hazards requiring protective hearing devices.
Press Area Helper
Job Description The Press Helper is responsible for performing the required tasks in support of the Flexographic Press Operator during press operations including but not limited to; maintaining ink levelsviscosity, loading/unloading material on the press, general housekeeping around the press, cleaning small spills of inks and solvents and the preparation and disposing of hazardous and non hazardous (recyclable) waste and trash in a timely manner. Essential Functions: - Follow and actively support all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines.
General Housekeeping & 5S o Maintains all housekeeping standards to ensure care and maintenance of equipment and sustains an organized, clean work environment free from debris and hazards.
Participate in WCOM Continuous Improvement activities as required.
Inspect substrate materials for obvious defects prior to use on presses.
Load/Unload Primary & Secondary raw materials and prepare splice.
Clean small spills of inks, solvents, and adhesive.
Collects press side generated hazardous waste in satellite accumulation areas.
Label and transfer on-site generated hazardous waste (shop towels) from satellite accumulation areas to on-site storage areas.
Dispose of scrap and trash on a timely basis and enters the data to the Shop Floor Data Collection system.
Measure ink viscosity.
Ensure all required tasks are being performed in overall support of Press Operator.
Assist the Press Operator as required with changing cylinders (Anilox, Rollers, Sleeves); press set-up and make-readys (sumps, pumps) and web breaks.
Performs tasks associated with Operation Clean Machine (OCM) - change seals, clean Doctor Blade chambers, clean Bellows and replace Doctor Blades.
Participates in Autonomous Management program. Performs basic preventative and autonomous tasks (clean, inspect, lubricate).

Press Helper (2nd Shift) Tracking Code 36958 Job Description Assists Press Operator with press make ready, operating, and maintaining sheet-fed offset printing press. This includes inserting packing sheets on plate cylinder to build up plate to printing height, fastening reinforcing bars to offset blankets, and installing plates and blankets on press cylinders, using hand tools and power tools, to achieve pressure required for printing.
Adjusts press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools. Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools. Wash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
Assist Press Operator by making necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work. Requires general knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials. Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.
Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product. Ability to use micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly. Ability to make adjustments to feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast, front and side guides and the timing of the head stops). Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment under guidance of senior level Press Operators.
Previous experience in a printing environment preferred. Some experience in the operation of various hand tools preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment.

Operate automatic, transfer and robotic stamping presses. Conduct required quality inspections, use Plex to enter information required for production, including down time events, scrap activity, inventory control transaction, etc.
- Operate production machinery or other production related functions. Set up jobs based on the daily production schedule by utilizing the set up sheets in Plex, report any needed changes to the shift supervisor.
- Follow packaging instructions as provided in Plex. If instructions are not available contact the shift supervisor.
- Inspect for quality of product as required. Maintain and enter information into Plex. Report any problems with fixtures, samples, or instructions to the quality department.
- Communicate to supervisors and managers any problems, issues, or concerns with press, feed line, tooling or any auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Return tools to the designated tooling shadow boards.
- Perform duties in a safe manner with attention to quality. Ensure press keys are not left in controls and PPE requirements are adhered to at all times.
