Maintains awareness of industry developments in either new products or processes and researches new concepts and technologies, as appropriate.
Enable timely delivery of projects on qualification of new raw materials, specifications and test protocols. Work with Manufacturing and Quality teams to identify potential issues in product liability or performance within domain expertise and direct team towards effective materials and process solutions. Manage project portfolio within domain of responsibility and team resources.
Provide stewardship on intellectual property developments. Keep on top of new developments, technologies, and code changes in the Gypsum domain. Promote a safe and organized work environment for team with focus on behavior based safety and 5S practices.

This knowledge would typically be obtained through formal education, in Materials science or chemistry and practical work experience. Industrial experience in formulations, design of experiments, process scale-up and familiarity with plasterboard chemistry is desired.

Ensure all calciners are operated to achieve production goals.
Supervise up to seven subordinates and additional contractors as needed or assigned in the operation of the Mill Calciner to produce good quality calcined phosphate rock at low cost.
Must meet or exceed environmental permit requirements.

Must control flow of incoming ore, final calcined product, control the discharge of any waste products and maintain environmental compliance.
