The Driver: Heavy position is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of equipment at customer sites and other branch locations. This position is responsible for maintaining proper paperwork and ensuring a professional appearance with all vehicles. This position is also accountable for basic operational instruction to customers on the safe operation of all equipment. Early or late hours and/or weekends may be required to fulfill the job responsibilities of this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Completes and maintains daily truck log, accurately and completely. This includes fuel and mileage reports, IFTA paperwork and daily logs (Includes DOT logs), and relevant information regarding pick-ups, deliveries, and transfers
Accurately manages day to day use and reporting of company provided fuel card
Reports any unsafe conditions regarding the use of Rents equipment
Ensures entire vehicle is clean and meets professional standards, such as DOT inspections
Seeks ways to manage daily routine in the most effective and efficient manner. Works with the manager to implement agreed-upon changes
Assists with the workload in other departments / branch areas when not busy doing regularly assigned tasks
Meets the needs and requests of the customer in a professional and courteous manner
Works closely with the Counter and Shop personnel to keep informed or to communicate any relevant information regarding company equipment
- Acts as an ambassador for the company, and promotes additional sales by explaining and suggesting other equipment and/or services offered. This may require that the employee gather additional knowledge and understanding of all products and services available within the company
Conducts daily post-trip vehicle inspection as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
Maintains vehicles to ensure safe conditions; includes daily inspections of tires, lights, signals, glass, etc. Vehicle fluids and tire air pressures must be checked and serviced daily
Ensures vehicle is ready for next-day business; including fuel fills and pre-loads, whenever possible
Learns and understands equipment thoroughly to ensure safe operations
Demonstrates to customers how to operate the equipment being delivered to them in a safe and effective manner
Inspects all equipment for damage at time of pick up. Documents findings and submits damage information to Rental Counter personnel upon return to the store or branch location
Understands and complies with DOT Federal Motor Carrier regulations

Install, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot the following:

Supervise up to seven subordinates and additional contractors as needed or assigned in the operation of the Mill Calciner to produce good quality calcined phosphate rock at low cost.

Coordinate production needs with planned maintenance activities with the mine and mill maintenance department.

Participate in audits or activities outside the lab to comply with business goals. Work with operations, process engineering, and R&D to ensure new products and run plans are being followed as designed. Cultivate a commercial relationship with vendors to ensure maintenance contracts are being followed according to terms.
Oversee lab work shift schedules in the lab, and complete time cards on a weekly basis. Perform routine chemical reactions, plant processes, sample collection in the plant, crosscheck with other labs, plant analytical instrumentation maintenance/verification. Complete Measurement System Analysis in a frequent manner, following the MSA program established.

What We Look for in You… Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4+ years of Quality experience in laboratories related with manufacturing environment, required; OR an associate's degree with 6+ years of Quality experience in laboratories related with manufacturing environment, required. A degree in Chemical Engineering is preferable. Strong understanding of chemical processes and QA/QC activities.
ISO 9001 certification preferred, along with awareness of Quality Management System concepts. Developed understanding of general chemistry and laboratory safety. Previous experience managing people is required; leadership within a union environment desired.
Developed computer skills using software packages such as Minitab, Microsoft Office, and SAP. Well-developed analytical methodology and an insight into troubleshooting and problem-solving. Good communication skills (oral and written) Yellow or Green Belt Six Sigma certification desired.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Operates chemical packaging and/or processing equipment.
Knows, and observes all Standard Operating Procedures, safety procedures and rules, and environmental practices.
Operates chemical packaging equipment; or, operates one or more of the following pieces of chemical processing equipment according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
Assists with operation of COP equipment
Various pieces of processing equipment associated with HTLP
Troubleshoots all problems that occur on equipment in assigned area and reports issues to supervision.
Inspects and cleans all machinery within their scope of authority and performs minor repairs when necessary.
Prepares assigned equipment for maintenance. Assists maintenance personnel with both preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
Draws product samples at prescribed intervals and submits them to the QC laboratory for analysis.
Maintains an accurate account of daily tasks in the area logbook.
Communicates with previous and incoming shift personnel regarding production, maintenance and other pertinent details as captured in the area logbook.
Responsible for the cleanliness of the area assigned.
May perform other related assignments and operator other equipment as determined by supervision.
Education equivalent to:
- High School diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 6 months experience in an industrial environment
Previous experience operating a forklift preferred
Must be able to become forklift certified

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This includes the ability to rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They need the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
