Perform a thorough physical inspection, testing and diagnosis of incoming watches for After Sales Service. Perform all manner of repairs, maintenance, cleaning and or overhauls on watches received at the After Sales Service workshop. Maintain a clean, neat, organized workshop including the work areas, equipment and tools.
Physical inspection and testing of watches and propose a diagnosis.
Report the proposed diagnosis to the Senior Watchmaker for approval.
Enter approved diagnosis in system and enter recommended level of service needed to return the watch to full functionality in the repair system quotation module.
Suggest optional repairs or maintenance to extend the life or esthetic look of the watch if needed.
Research all part numbers needed to repair watch and enter into repair system quotation module.
Verifies that damage or needed repairs are covered under warranty.
Communication of all completed diagnosis and technical quotations to workshop coordinator.
The picking of all parts/components needed and the physical disassembly, repair, replacement, overhaul or calibration and reassembly of all approved repair jobs as per clients request and or needs.
Full cleaning and or polishing of all internal and external components on all repair jobs as needed.
Complete testing and quality control of all completed watch repairs including but not limited to timing accuracy, average rate, beat error, amplitude, consumption, power reserve, vacuum, air-pressure, and or diving pressure.
Verifies product and or component authenticity
Maintenance of US Watches and Fine Jewelry After Sales Service Workshop
Assist in the implementation of all local and global service standards including but not limited to technical expertise, service quality, turn around, authenticity verification and workshop policies and procedures.
Assist in monitoring repair lead times for internal workshop repairs. Communicate all possible delays to Senior Watchmaker & workshop coordinator.
Keeps his/her work bench, common areas and equipment neat, clean and orderly.
Assists in the maintenance and upkeep of workshop equipment and tools.
Assists in putting away all pending jobs and or parts in the storage area at the end of each workday.
Assists in quality control inspection of incoming spare parts.
Takes part in the physical count of spare parts and watches for inventory reconciliation purposes.
Assists in sorting and organization of parts and components as needed.
Communications for US After Sales Service
Provides information to Senior Watchmaker and coordinator to answers queries of boutiques, retailers and or corporate related staff regarding the repair and or technical aspect of repairs, estimated completion dates, delays, and or quality control.
Reports all potential authenticity issues to Senior Watchmaker.
2-5 Years as a Watchmaker/Technician with strong watchmaking skills

Reporting to the Associate Director of GxP Facility Operations or designee, the Metrology Manager will be responsible for maintaining an audit ready metrology program at the Vertex Manufacturing and Develop Center and GMP labs at Vertex Corporate Headquarters both located in South Boston, MA.

Using technical experience, education and a thorough knowledge of CONMED's Calibration Program and procedures, the Calibration Technician III performs, with little or no supervision, calibrations of simple and complex electronic, electrical, electro-mechanical, dimensional and/or mechanical test and measurement equipment in accordance with standards, blueprints and specifications.

BW Caliber Tech - Out Of Class Only
Inspects, tests, maintains, repairs and calibrates a variety of instrumentation and equipment including industrial equipment, test benches, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, tooling, etc. within an aerospace Maintenance, repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility for a major airline. Must be able to Interpret schematics/wiring diagrams and technical manuals. Utilize test equipment, oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters and spectrum analyzers, physical dimensional and numerous types of Test, Measure and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). Must be proficient in the use of standards, diagrams, sketches, manuals, manufacturer's specifications and instructions used in the calibration industry.
Performs calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and adjustment in the laboratory or in-place on physical/mechanical Test, Measure and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) such as, but not limited to: pressure, vacuum, liquid and gas flow, mass, length, optical, temperature, torque, force, vibration, dimensional tools and tachometry calibrations.
Interprets and utilizes NIST and/or other International Standards Organization (ISO) or other reports and corrections for any level of calibration and measurement.
Maintains current knowledge of all physical equipment and measurement techniques to perform state-of-the-art measurements with minimum engineering direction.
Perform the following duties in coordination with the Metrology laboratory and/or in-place functions: recommend calibration/repair techniques and calibration/repair systems for new types of instruments; recommend changes to update existing calibration and/or repair stations by determining substitution of instruments, supporting equipment, and methods; determine range, accuracy and uncertainty requirements of laboratory equipment necessary to perform valid calibrations and/or repairs; inform supervision of any deficiencies in measurement and/or repair capability and recommend necessary changes to meet requirements.
Assist in the generation and proof-testing of new calibration procedures, reviews, and updates of old procedures to reflect new technology and/or equipment improvements. Recommend new calibration and/or repair techniques and substitution of instruments and components.
Assist engineers in the development of uncertainty analysis, reports, and check standards for accreditation in measurement parameters. Collect test and check standard data to meet accreditation standards.
Prepare trend charts for calibration reference and check standards.
Perform accreditation testing on standards and artifacts.
Prepare for and participate in Government and/or customer and commercial audits, assessments, such as the MIP (Measurement Intercomparison Program), MAP (Measurement Audit Program), and accreditation audit programs.
Identify instruments which can no longer be maintained within specified tolerances or operate throughout a specified range and recommend appropriate solution such as retirement, duration, limited performance, etc. Assist engineering in troubleshooting of instrument problems.
Perform necessary liaison with Company and/or vendor personnel to investigate instrument malfunctions.
Applicants must have an Associate of Science Degree in Physical Technology, or technical training equivalent to completion of a two-year course in physical measurements, metrology, or other related subjects, or a minimum of twenty four (24) months of calibration experience and successful completion of training requirements as a Physical Calibration Technician (military or civilian). An FCC license and experience with radio transmitters / receivers preferred. Must have the ability to work independently to develop techniques and procedures and give technical assistance to others.
Minimum of 2 years civilian or military jet engine test cell calibration experience preferred. Must be mechanically oriented with good written and verbal communications skills. Experience with Excel, Word and other business computer software applications strongly desired.
Experience working in a NVLAP or similar calibration laboratory accreditation program environment are a plus. Must have demonstrated success working in a team environment. Must be physically able to climb ladders, lift equipment over 25 lbs., sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, and work in an industrial environment.
