Overview:
General duties includes: Makes dimensional, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and physical (both destructive and non-destructive) inspection of a diversified line of products and components for conformity to size, mechanical performance, appearance, physical properties, acceptable standards of performance, and adherence to procedures. Involves inspection where minimum or no procedures are provided and little, if any, gaging is prescribed.
May be required to assist, devise, and oversee the application of inspection setups, gaging devices, and procedures and advise on status of product or production. Initiates product audits to determine conformance to Badger Meter Inc. customer requirements. May assist in the development of audit plans.
Requires the ability to work with others and communicate effectively for the purpose of maintaining continuity and awareness. Requires thorough knowledge of all inspection techniques, gages, and procedures, including the ability to do surface plate setup working with offset planes and centerline orientation. Requires the ability to measure parts using CMM software, collect and summarize data using Word or Excel and use computer systems on a daily basis.
Requires the ability to select and set gages. Must be competent in use and interpretation of conventional engineering drawings, GD&T, development of dimensions not shown on assembly drawings, and have the ability to document results of activities. Assists in the identification of defect causes and may participate in or recommend corrective actions.
Responsible for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area. Work direction is given by supervision, team leaders, or set up technicians. Possesses good communication skills and is able to work in a team environment.

Quality Control Inspector
SUMMARY: Assists the Quality Control Manager in organizing, maintaining and implementing the quality assurance program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Surveillance of in-process cutting, drilling, fit-up, welding, bolting, cleaning and painting operations.
Assist Q.A. Manager in qualifying weld procedures and welders to AWS D1.1.
Assist Q.A. Manager in monitoring welder’s continuous performance for maintaining their qualifications.
Assist Q.A. Manager and shop leadman in resolving material and fabrication problems.
Final inspection of pieces

cleaning and painting

Weld inspection – all welds to receive final inspection and documented.
Cleaning & Painting –
record temperature, humidity, and dew point daily in paint areas

monitor painting and check percentage of pieces for dry film thickness and document
help maintain records of paint and thinner used and blast machine usage.
Perform pre-installation bolt testing
Coordination of third-party testing agencies
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Fitter and welding experience or more than three years’ experience in quality control inspection related to structural steel fabrication.

Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

Job Scope
Conducts inspections of incoming vehicles to detect damage, prepare and submit report of vehicle condition, and related documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessment of vehicle condition upon receipt noting any damage or repair required for frame, paint, AC/heater operation, radio, navigation system, tires, etc.
Prepare support documentation related to vehicle condition including vehicle identification data, condition description, photographs, etc.
Conduct OVE courtesy walk around inspections
