Heavy Equipment Yellow Equipment Mechanic
To maintain and repair yellow equipment and associated equipment in a safe, time and cost efficient manner in order to maximize vehicle utilization and longevity.
- Repairs and maintains a wide variety of equipment, cabs, and bodies of company equipment and other equipment as necessary to maintain a serviceable fleet of heavy equipment for the division’s operating needs.
- Performs regular preventative servicing to include oil and filter changes, lubrication, hoses, belts, transmission fluids, coolant system, batteries, brake lines, brake adjustments, hydraulics, lights and electrical components, and engine components.
- Inspects and tests equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction or breakdown. Diagnoses malfunctions, disassembles, inspects, and replaces worn or broken parts as required.
- Performs repairs to equipment to meet standards set for inspections and safety standards.
- Test-drives repaired equipment on-site. May drive a service vehicle on site or off site to travel to other divisions, pick up parts, etc.
- Uses hoists, winches, lifts, gauges, drills, grinders and hand tools specialized to the mechanical auto/truck trade.
- Keeps service records, accounts for time and parts used.
- Performs welding, bodywork and repainting as necessary to maintain equipment.
- Reviews Vehicle Condition Reports and makes repairs as indicated.
- Notifies supervisor of unsafe equipment and recommends corrective action.
- Notifies the Maintenance Manager for all work required which is beyond the mechanics ability, or for direction when unsure of proper repair methods.
- Able to work with a minimum of supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner.

• Reads work order and observes and listens to truck in operation to determine malfunction/diagnose problem(s)

• Submits time cards by 9:00 a.m. daily. If technician is dispatched to a job from home, time must be called in and given to service administrator over the telephone by 9:00 a.m. daily.
Experience: Two years minimum related experience and/or training – and/or combination of education and experience.

Field Mechanic (Hydraulics Or A Heavy Construction Equipment Expert)
Repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks. Seeking a Mechanic with a strong mechanical aptitude who is able to repair, troubleshoot and/or rebuild engines of equipment used in the construction industry. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience servicing diesel trucks, bulldozers, graders, loaders, forklifts, and conveyors, etc., used in construction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Read job orders, observe and listen to truck/equipment in operation to determine malfunction, and plan work procedures.
Disassemble machinery, heavy equipment, and diesel/gasoline engines to remove parts and make applicable repairs.
Diagnose, analyze, repair, adjust and align any/all components of machinery, heavy equipment and engines.
Order and/or requisition parts and materials as needed.
Maintain vehicle records by annotating all received services and repairs.
Complete test runs on repaired machinery, heavy equipment, and engines to verify adequacy of repairs.
Confer with operators, and observe, test, and evaluate operation of equipment to properly diagnose cause of malfunction.
Understand and perform various daily and weekly assignments from verbal or written communication.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Adhere to all company safety standards/policies and applicable OSHA regulations.
Install new ignition systems, align front wheels, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmission and other parts.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid state issued driver’s license and a clean MVR.

An active “Class A CDL”.

Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence.

This position starts out at $19.75 and up, depending on experience. After 60 days, you will receive a performance review with the possibility for a raise at that time. Summary Is responsible for performing all truck maintenance operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
