Position Summary and Responsibilities The Production Equipment Operator –Molder II is responsible for setting up and operating transfer molding, injection molding & dispensing machines used in the production of polyurethane, neoprene, and/or epoxy connectors and bodies. Accurately and completely fills out shop orders, defect reporting sheets, white board, and any other required documentation.
The operator is responsible to move products to the next work center in ERP.

- Retrieve aluminum dies from storage area to be used for daily work. This involves pushing the dye onto a cart to transport the dye to a work station.Wax die tools weigh from 25 up to 250 lbs. each.

The Blow Molder Process Technicians in the E3 Business Unit will have a primary focus on the Blow Molding equipment and its supporting equipment and will also be cross trained to operate other equipment in the area.
Essential Duties Set up, process, clean and operate Blow Molder and Filler equipment and their respective support equipment utilizing the Production Unit and /or HMI. Cross train and operate additional machine centers in the E3 department as needed. Monitor and maintain uptime, performance, and exceptions utilizing the Packaging Unit Controller (PUC) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Adjust machine settings to regulate speeds, pressures, temperatures, and flow of materials.
Monitor machine operations (lights and gauges) to detect malfunctions and troubleshoot problems so to perform simple repairs and/or correct defect issues when needed. (i.e. bad port, flash not fully removed wall distribution not uniform.) Troubleshoot the entire system for loss of flow on the production line and assist in determining root cause and analyses (RCA). Clear jams and remove defective or substandard materials or products. Record and maintain production data. Send product samples to laboratories for analysis.
Examine, measure, and weigh materials or products to verify conformance to standards, using measuring devices such as templates, micrometers, or scales. Utilize lean tools (Suggestion, 6S, DMAIC, PDCA, etc.) to improve or maintain the effectiveness of operation. Recommend changes to operating procedure to improve quality and efficiency.
Utilize SAP and MES to process all orders and confirmations. Utilize MES and PUC to address any and all prompts to include all Batch Record Recording (BRR), Cleaning Orders, Exceptions, and Critical Faults. Review Docs (EBR, BPMS) to keep up on production status and direction.
Maximize efficiency and utilization of resources for effective performance. Work with support groups (Plastics, Weigh/Mix, Warehouse, Quality Control, etc.) in regards to material supply and movements to include up and downstream processes. Assist Management in tracking production performance factor such as raw material usage, indirect costs, rejects and waste and in identifying areas needing improvement.
Under the direction of Management, train, instruct and guide employees in the proper operation and performance of job duties to assure that good manufacturing practices and standard production operating procedures are followed most effectively. Perform adjustments and minor repair of mechanical, systems on main and support equipment. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to forty pounds on a daily basis. 2.

Normal or corrected vision necessary to read directions and closely examine parts; and to distinguish colors. 6. Normal hearing in order to detect equipment and motor malfunctions. 7. Ability to pull, lift and transport gaskets to and from various locations with the assigned location.
WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Works in areas that can be uncomfortable due to noise, odors, and temperature extremes. 2.
Works regularly with machines where carelessness could result in cuts, bruises, burns or muscle pulls. Serious injuries can be avoided if established safety precautions are followed.
