Work in an outpatient pediatric cardiology office to provide outpatient pediatric consultative and follow-up care for patients with suspected or proven cardiac issues. The Cardiac Electrophysiologist will be primarily responsible for consultative services and developing treatment plans for the management of Veterans with cardiac arrhythmias, pacemakers, or implantable defibrillators (AICD) in both the outpatient and inpatient settings at the facility in Orlando (Lake Nona). The incumbent will primarily provide evaluations and treatment recommendations regarding patients with cardiac arrhythmias as well as recommendations regarding internal medicine conditions that impact on the cardiovascular system. Duties will include: Consultative Cardiology for arrhythmia and device management Interpretation of ECGs and ambulatory event monitors Management of our Device Clinic Device implantation including permanent pacemakers, AICD's, implantable loop recorders, Arrhythmia ablation The physician will establish professional working relationships with clinical service providers within the outpatient clinic, the hospital, and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics providing telephone and other electronic consultations. During scheduled duty tour hours, the cardiac electrophysiologist shall be available for all urgent patient assessments and interventions as part of the patient care team. There will be opportunities to participate in educational activities through the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine as well as obtaining a non-salaried academic appointment at the College of Medicine commensurate with the applicant's level of professional achievement.
