Electronics Technician Maintenance II - C-130 Guidance & Control (2A4x1)
The Electronics Technician II applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manual, or similar document. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequences, in selecting tools, and testing equipment.
This technician inspects, analyzes, troubleshoots, and maintains aircraft guidance and control systems (GAC) such as automatic flight control systems, inertial navigation systems, flight instrument systems, and related integrated systems. Advises on problems operating and maintaining aircraft guidance and control systems, associated electronic components, subsystems, and test equipment. Solves maintenance problems using wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, and technical publication by analyzing operating characteristics of guidance and control systems.
Determines proper maintenance procedures to repair and return systems and components to maximum efficiency. Diagnoses malfunctions and recommends corrective actions. This technician receives technical guidance, as required from a supervisor or higher-level technician, and is reviewed for compliance with technical guidance and accepted practices.
Technician may also provide technical guidance to lower level technician. The candidate must have experience installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components, avionics boxes and chassis’ using common and specialized hand tools, power tool, and applicable test equipment. Requires the ability to understand and interpret technical manuals, schematics and drawings.
Successful candidate should also possess experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and equipment associated with aircraft systems functionality. Additional task are required, and include but not limited to: HAZMAT/HAZWASTE handling, corrosion control, inspection/repair, maintenance inspection, aircraft launch and recovery, aircraft servicing, towing, and jack/shoring aircraft.
Basic Qualifications Minimum of 6 years of C-130 GAC (2A4X1), aircraft, avionics and electrical system experience. The Senior Systems Engineer I (GNC Engineer) is responsible for development and implementation of missile guidance algorithms and software, modeling and simulation of GNC hardware/software components, hardware/software integration testing, and flight performance analysis.
