This position is responsible to provide operational support in reconstruction efforts for clients. Qualified candidates must be well grounded in fundamentals of carpentry and tool usage. Their primary learning mode is OJT through experience and interaction with intermediate and advance carpenters. Basic Carpenters have three development levels; (1) improve supervisory skills from small unskilled labor crews to larger crews that include BELFOR personnel and skilled subcontractors; (2) become increasingly competent with carpenter tools and BELFOR equipment; and (3) develop a basic understanding of field operation tasks specific to restoration industry. This position is the level 2 in the Progressive Carpenter track.
Must be able to take direction from experienced carpenter and supervisor
Move and protect contents without damage
Construct appropriate containment for construction dust, dirt and airborne contaminant in working area
Using appropriate tools and accepted BELFOR methods, perform tasks related to floodcutting, salvaging and labeling baseboards, cabinets, doors, etc
Develop full material knowledge as it relates to types, purposes, grades and uses for trims, doors, cabinetry
Develop proficiency in installation of various forms of insulation
Develop under supervision knowledge of Framing, Trim installation, cabinetry installation
Develop under supervision ability to "dry-in" a building as it relates to roofing material installation
Learn and understand MSDS protocols for chemicals used during mitigation processes
Perform Daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain in clean serviceable condition
Must maintain attention to detail
Will be required to meet BELFOR Standards in safeguarding other people's property
Must have a comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
Will be required to work nights and weekends as requested and travel periodically
Report time worked and equipment and consumables used timely and accurately
Attend BELFOR sponsored operations and safety training courses as required
Coordinating a small crew of unskilled laborers on most residential projects
Answer simple questions about the project and when to defer questions to more qualified personnel
Maintaining equipment used in daily tasks
Perform emergency services as needed - - IE Board Ups, securing building against further damage
Additional other duties as required

Setup and operated with supervision the following:
Key spacer punch
Electric shear cutter
Perform simple, but precise adjustments to the band saw, paper cutter and electric shear to produce lead pads, ducts, ties ends, pack out and window insulation or other need materials or procedures
Form and fold insulation
Assist higher level operations in planning and performing a normal range of operations including:
Grinding and sawing on a variety of wood parts
Work with higher level Carpenters to:
Layout and work from blueprints, sketches, specifications or samples
Sharpen drill bits as needed
Select align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and equipment
Train and inspect with some supervision
Use all basic hand and power tools
Use all drill presses
Inspect ones own work
Use other applicable equipment under the direction of a higher level Carpenter or Supervisor.
SDP is hiring 3 experienced Carpenters. Carpenters at SDP work under the guidance and leadership of the Lead Carpenter and Site Supervisor. Carpenters will work on small and large projects and are expected to bring the skills and knowledge to take a project from frame to finish.

Conduct general and finish carpentry related to wood forms, shelving, trim, and cabinetry
Install ceiling grid systems, metal studs, doors & frames, door hardware and drywall

Proven ability to lay out and install new metal stud walls, windows, doors/frames, and a variety of hardware types
Proven expertise in anchoring materials to concrete, drywall and masonry products
Knowledgeable and skilled in erecting a variety of scaffolding systems
Completion of a carpenter apprenticeship with a general contractor or cabinet shop
Experienced with the installation of FRP doors and frames
