Injection Mold Process Technician
The Process Technician supports the production efforts in the staging of tooling and startup of production jobs while maintaining reasonable efficiencies, minimizing tool damage/wear, and preserving the safety of all viability. Support of engineering development and corrective/preventative action efforts are required as necessary.
Provide machine set up and process support for all production processes
Clean, stage and tear down molds (with extreme care and attention) to meet production needs
Participates in test shots.
Measure first shots for each production job, as necessary
Run sample parts and facilitate in establishing processes for new and transfer tooling projects
Promote 5S maintenance & improvements
Responsible to repair, rebuild, or overhaul all types of production, service equipment and machine parts in all production areas and replacement for various production equipment

Performs in-process audits and communicates directly with the Quality department
Operates measuring tools such as micrometers, dial and digital calipers, and etc.

Operate a variety of forklifts and other material moving equipment and tools.

About the job:
This position is for a Polymer Mold Compound Engineer with an interest in developing, optimizing, qualifying and supporting mold compound materials for use in IC packaging.
Expertise in mold compound materials including a knowledge of, chemistries, manufacture , assembly and industry reliability requirements. Experience with qualifying these materials in IC package applications including Auto, Industrial and High Power/High Voltage is preferred. A knowledge of mold compound interaction w/ Cu Wire, Leadframe, Substrates, and other materials used in IC package assembly is a must. There will be an emphasis on thermal/compositional characterization, performance/failure analysis, and comparison/selection of polymer based materials for product applications. It will be necessary to clearly document and communicate information with multiple team members in multiple sites and into multiple management chains. Some international travel will be required. Experience with analytical tools such as SEM, EDX, Auger, FIB, FTIR, DSC, TGA, IC and AA is required. Additionally, we are looking for someone who is a team player, with excellent communication skills, and has the ability to work with wide array of team members and factories in multiple locations.

To operate a variety of molding machines to produce moderately complex wax pattern and gating components of the highest quality.
To inspect, trim and clean wax parts as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean mold plates and all components.
Check for proper gating, venting and cooling of mold.
Record and maintain all maintenance documentation as required.
Polish cavities and cores to specified finishes.
Must be able to troubleshoot and analyze problems with molds.
Read and understand blueprints, sketches, and schematics relating to molds.
Have the ability to use all measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, travel dials, and their applications) to measure and determine proper mold and component fits and tolerances within .0002" to .0005".
Wire molds and read an OHM meter to understand basic electrical issues in diagnosing heater and thermal couple failures.
Construct or rebuild mold components per prints, using any or all machine tools available in Mold Repair area as well as the Tool Room.
Assemble mold and components maintaining proper dimensional tolerances.
Maintains an extremely clean and safe work area with an emphasis on 5"s.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
