The Prototype Test Lab Technician is responsible for setting up and conducting deployment tests of automotive safety products in a safe and efficient manner through proper utilization of laboratory equipment and control systems. The Prototype Test Lab Technician understands and follows APS principles to manage part-flow, resolve problems and identify and implement process improvements.

In this position, you support the eMobility Group with expertise to procure parts for electric trucks. This is an emerging, exciting technology, and the right person will drive DTNA's success by helping our engineering department, customers and network adopt the new vehicles into their operations.
Lead EMG prototype parts procurement; manage incoming parts requests received from engineering and submit PPRs to PVE procurement.
Coordinate, manage, and execute entire vehicle procurement for EMG prototype vehicle builds.
Prioritize work based on project priority, lead time, status, and customer needs.
Manage relationships for internal and external customers.
Provide high quality answers to deliverables in a timely fashion to downstream internal and external customers.
Represent EMG procurement in cross-functional teams.
Develop, verify, track and respond to procurement key performance indicators; monitor procurement status, report progress, communicate issues to management in a timely manner.
Coordinate new vendor setup with PVE Procurement.
Develop positive relationships with suppliers/customers as well as knowledge about their requirements, capabilities, and lead time.
Coordinate with all DTNA departments, including but not limited to, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Service Engineering, Purchasing, Change Over, and Accounting to accomplish functions.
Provide written and verbal status reports to management as well as internal and external customers.
Continually strive to increase quality, delivery, efficiency, and effectiveness by championing meaningful continuous improvement efforts; implement improvement initiatives, verify effectiveness, and make necessary adjustments.
Coordinate, expedite, and track shipments from Daimler AG.
Coordinate shipping of test/show trucks as needed.
Other duties as required by the EMG prototype builds.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Engineering, or related discipline and at least 2 years of experience; OR an Associate's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Engineering, or related discipline and at least 4 years of experience; OR 8 years of related Daimler experience required.
1 year of group lead, project lead or mentoring experience is required.
Ability to work across disciplines required

Supervisor Prototype Production
The Prototype Production Supervisor directs and coordinates all buying, planning and prototype builds for the Product Testing Team. The Prototype Production Supervisor is accountable for the production of lab cells and batteries to meet the volume and testing requirements of the Research and Development Team.
· Ensure adherence to Safety procedures as well as new procedure implementations
· Manages all planning, scheduling and material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements
· Provides production floor leadership and guidance to all production related activities ensuring all production related KPI’s are met
· Work with senior leadership to design, develop, track and manage process improvements/projects on the production floor
· Recommends changes in capacity for manpower and machinery, assuring that all groups are properly staffed and trained to meet objectives in accordance with weekly and monthly production plan

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform setup, adjustments, machining and quality checks on prototype samples under the direction of the
Prototype Manager. This position will ensure continued output of quality machined components.
Also, requires the ability to utilize statistical process control methods, to perform quality checks on a regular basis on each of the machines. This is an advanced position that involves knowledge of various machine operations, ability to read and interpret blueprints, as well as basic diagnostic abilities. Must be able to set-up, hand load and operate each machine in the prototype area.
Must be able to attain precise limits, tolerances and standards. When a machine breaks down, this individual is responsible for assisting in diagnosis of the problem. The prototype machinist is responsible for daily PM's of the machines, keeping records of results of regular prototype cell checks, responsible for editing of programs on all machines and must be able to set tooling using compurgators, gages, or pre-setting fixture. This position starts at $19.32/hr and progresses over 15 months to a top out rate of 23.05/hr.
1.High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
2.Previous 1-2 years CNC machining experience, including programming/setup
and operating as a machinist with gauging tolerance of machine parts.
3.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
4.Must pass validated Federal-Mogul machinist test.
5.Must be able to load parts weighing 25-50 pounds at waist level.
6.Must be able to bend into parts basket set on the floor, from the waist.
7.On a frequent basis must be able to stand and/or walk.
8.On an occasional basis must be able to sit, or stand in one place.
9.Must constantly be able to reach, handle and finger parts.
10. Requires clarity of vision at 20" or less (near acuity), three dimensional vision (depth perception) as well as

Prototype Build Engineer - Chassis System
The Prototype Build Engineer is responsible for leading prototype build activities for Chassis Engineering through the planning and active build phase. Additional responsibilities include driving design completion and coordination with release engineering, part ordering, part tracking, delivery to meet build timing, issue resolution, and floor support for hoist and pilot plant builds.
