JOB SUMMARY :
Cleaning and Prep railcars for loading at customer locations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Perform railcar cleaning according to established procedures
Learn and perform railcar prepping according to established procedure
Safely operate equipment
Conduct pre-inspection and post-inspection of assigned equipment
Follow all safety procedures, including wearing all appropriate PPE and Blue Flag Rules
Participate in meeting objectives for safety, quality, and profitability
Create all required reports accurately and in a timely manner
Assist in Inventory of material and parts
Maintain good communications with customers
Follow company and applicable railroad policies and procedures
Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of equipment

Work toward completing Prepping Training Certification
Perform mobile cleaning
Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Railcar Repair Washbay – Decatur, IL
This is a full-time, night shift (8:30PM – 6:00AM, Sun – Thurs), hourly level position.
Interior and Exterior Cleaning of Railcars
Railcar Valve Rebuilding and Repair
Experience in industrial tank washing desired
Ability to perform the tasks involved with the washing and valve rebuilding of railcars including entry/exit into railcars, working in hot or cold conditions, mechanical aptitude for valve rebuilding.

The Railcar Fleet Maintenance Associate supports the asset management team by providing clerical support specifically associated with railcar repair and maintenance. TrinityRail Maintenance Services is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of 2nd Shift Railcar Welder 2 in our Hugo, OK plant!
In this role, you will use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics or work orders and uses manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate and maintain parts of metal or other weldable materials. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance to equipment. Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and maintain parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches using manual, automatic welding and/or semi-automatic welding equipment. May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications. Observe all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records. Follow all safety rules and practices. PURPOSE AND ROLE:
The Railcar Loader will be responsible for monitoring all loading andunloading operations of product into railcars and will be responsible for allsecurity, safety and environmental requirements in the area. Additionally, all railcars require a detailedinspection upon initial receipt during loading and after loading iscompleted.

Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas and arc welding, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of rail car parts.Examine railcars for defects, and use different processes to repair these defects. Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.Repair or replace defective or worn parts such as couplers, yokes, and gears, using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Check cars for defects before and after repairs. Record conditions of cars, and repairs and maintenance work to be performed.
Remove car mechanical units, or other components, using pneumatic hoists and jacks, pinch bars, hand tools, and cutting torches. Inspect components such as draft gear systems, car bodies, wheels, and coupler assemblies to determine if repairs are needed. Inspect the interior and exterior of rail cars coming into rail yards in order to identify defects and to determine the extent of wear and damage.
Adjust repaired or replaced units as needed to ensure proper operation. Perform scheduled maintenance, and clean units and components
Performs mechanical repairs on railcars with defective and/or worn out parts (due normal wear and damage).Insures that repairs are made in accordance with AAR and FRA guidelines.Inspects all incoming and outgoing railcars for damage not meeting AAR specifications and guidelines.Performs Class 1 Airbrake Test on outbound Sweeny and HBT railcars.Utilizes the following equipment in performance of making railcar repairs: cherry picker, forklift, and hand/power tools.Insures that mechanical equipment and tools are in good working condition; provides maintenance on this equipment as required. Railcar Fleet Inspector
Progress Rail Leasing is looking for a candidate to fill an opening in their Car Mechanical Division.
This position will involve 40% to 50% travel and will require the employee to work out of the Hollidaysburg, PA office with the need to eventually transfer to the Florence, KY office after training.
The basic purpose of position: Perform the essential inspection and repair functions necessary to prepare railcars for transportation.
As a Railcar Repairman, you must be a dependable and safety-conscious person with a strong mechanical background. We would prefer someone with previous railcar repair experience but not required. Safety is the number 1 priority with Road & Rail Services so it is vital that all company guidelines and safety rules are followed and met while on the job.
Inspect railcar for serviceability along with damage/fatigue;
Identify repairs that can be performed by Road & Rail Services;
Notify management of unserviceable railcars that cannot be repaired by Road & Rail Services;
Perform authorized repairs to customer and AAR specifications;
Lubricate railcars and stencil lubrication date on the railcar;
Accurately record, either electronically or in writing, all repairs;
Assist, as required, in the "prepping" of railcars, this may include the use of backpack blowers, push brooms, vacuums, and various scraping devices remove all debris and other non-hazardous contaminants from inside the railcar;
Operate various types of mechanical equipment including small farm type tractors, all terrain vehicles, pick-up trucks, and panel vans;
Perform housekeeping duties as required by site management;
