JOB DESCRIPTION: The employee will perform those duties expected of a full time PROJECT MANAGER. He/She will be in charge of ensuring that major ship repair overhaul/repair jobs he is assigned are scheduled properly, that the schedule is adhered to and that work performed is in compliance with safety, environmental and specified technical directives. He/She will assist in the preparation of program/project repair schedules with milestones, will know his/her budget, and prepare daily progress and other reports. Shipyard experience in the role or a similar role is a requirement for this position.
- Must have prior successful experience as a Production/Program/Project Manager and be especially familiar with structural, pipe, mechanical and electrical repairs on naval vessels.
- Must be expert in reading specifications and blueprints.
- Can generate, read and understand Project Schedules.
- Is familiar with OSHA and EPA rules and regulations.
- Can prepare commonly used reports, to include Condition Found Reports (CFRs), Change Orders, and others.
- Has supervised 10-30 company employees and all subcontractors involved in the ship repair effort.
- Knows how to get around a Navy, Coast Guard, or MSC ship and understands compartmentation. Familiarity with welding, mechanical, piping and structural repairs, sandblasting/painting, sheet metal, and electrical repairs.
- Analyze and reduce costs.
- Understand and work with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Sets and meets goals, meets or beats milestones.
- Oversees all shop standards,quality, cleanliness, and organization.
- Orders machines and equipment and inspects it for condition and proper operation.
- Monitors weekly adherence to the plan.
- Is free to travel, as required, to supervise projects. This is an infrequent requirement, but is expected with certain jobs.
- The position requires extensive climbing of ladders, gangways and, in certain cases, confined spaces. Must know confined compartment entry procedures/requirements.

Systems engineering support will be in all applicable warfare mission areas and to both new construction and in-service ships. Responsibilities to include the following:

Support the technical team, applying mission and operational knowledge and context, to evaluate designs, identify technical issues and associated recommendations, and to conduct engineering performance studies and analyses on combat system improvements to new systems, or of existing systems throughout the systems engineering process (end to end).
Perform engineering review and critique of combat system proposals and efforts, identifying engineering shortfalls, key trade requirements, additional option considerations, and general assessments of concepts/ideas and methodologies being pursued.
Participate in combat system test events, including preparation, execution, and report generation. Participate as a team member in formal and informal combat system design reviews or other tailored program-specific reviews and provide meeting minutes. Database/System Administrator for Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) based at NAS Lemoore. Hybrid Database Administrator/System Administrator for an operating unit, responsible for ensuring the integrity of all the databases within the system.
The Administrator maintains the internal database of the system as well as the individual applications. Administrator is responsible for providing the overall on-site maintenance and support of the system.
The Administrator will perform duties to include the following:
Backup/Restore/Disaster Recovery, Hardware/System Monitoring, System/Software/User Maintenance. The Administrator serves as the primary point of contact for any questions or concerns raised by users. Administrative responsibilities include updating systems and software consistent with the Patch Management Plan, performing backup and recovery, and monitoring system performance.
Performs Database technical duties to include general backups, restore, updates, testing, debugging, integration and analysis. The specific duties include performing data transfers between operating units and other systems (internal and external), providing user access to data, keeping servers operational, configuring assets to support user needs, troubleshooting assets. Monitors test progress, corrective actions, hardware/software baseline status, testing patches and an overall status of the system.
Also, this candidate will serve as the point of contact to for the JSF Squadron discussion during the flight and evaluation activities. Interacts with users and acts as Subject Matter Expert for use of product suite.
