Responsible for executing the customer's request for transportation via the most efficient and cost effective manner while providing the highest level of Service. The Carrier Broker/Carrier Sales is a front line representative of Perishable Distribution Solutions and must constantly demonstrate our commitment to providing the highest level of service to our clients and ensuring fair business practices with each of our vendors.
Work is typically performed under minimal daily supervision, receiving guidance from manager/supervisor about the work that needs to be completed. Able to exercise high level of discretion and latitude in completing tasks.
Responsible for brokering freight, third party logistics, dispatching and assigning transportation vendors based on client demands and service requirements.
Ability to perform in an environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines
Intimate knowledge of logistics including carrier alternatives, pricing and potential problems.
Cold calling carriers and negotiating rates
Develop strong network of carriers (REFRIGERATED / DRY / COLD STORAGE LTL)
Negotiate rates with drivers for best return on gross profit per load
Proficient use of transportation software such (MCCLEOD, TMW, FREIGHTWARE, AS400, MERCURY GATE
Assign loads to trucks, following company policy on planning requirements and HOS
Monitor shipment status, reply to e-mails, process updates and act as point of contact for carrier and customer
Document daily check calls in TMS System or other

Carrier Data Analyst Pod Manager - Enrollment
Summary of Role The Carrier Data Analyst Pod Manager – Enrollment is responsible for team and individual development, process development and refinement, and ensuring that the businesses needs are met relating to carrier enrollment data integration. They are responsible for day to day performance and process for the Enrollment team of Carrier Data Analysts. They ensure proper processing of Carrier Enrollment data, including resolving errors and completing regular data reconciliations. The Carrier Data Analyst Pod Manager – Enrollment works with the Carrier Team to resolve any outstanding participant issues. The Carrier Data Analyst – Enrollment team’s primary function is to ensure that company records accurately represent the information received from Carriers. The team works with Microsoft Excel and internal reporting systems to compare files received from carriers and internal records. The team will work closely with Carrier Onboarding Team to ensure that recurring issues are resolved through updating file exchange formats and processes. The Carrier Data Analyst – Enrollment team will also support other Carrier Data Analyst teams during peak seasons.
Work with Carrier Data Analyst – Enrollment team on process improvement, and implementation.
Develop and disperse training programs around technical skills and best practices.
Work with team plan, organize, and implement personal development timelines for individuals.
Work with other Carrier Data Analyst Pod Managers to ensure timely completion of work during peak seasons for each pod.
Encourage the appropriate and accurate use of information across the company, and identify new ways in which information can be used to solve business problems or improve processes.
Promote strategic enterprise goals related to data quality, integrity, consistency, and accuracy.
Coordinate internal resources assignments with leadership team and define priorities based on resources availability and Stakeholders’ expectations.
Conduct presentations, and effectively communicate product functionality.
As teams identify and resolve functional issues, this role will help consult, and provide optimal solutions for Stakeholders’ needs, in escalated scenarios that require leadership direction.
Establish a communication schedule to update internal and external teams on any project updates or team direction.
Responsible for oversight on the day-to-day operational aspects of projects for the purpose of accomplishing team / department goals and objectives in the best possible way. Minimum Criteria & Skills (including education & licenses)
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related discipline, preferred.
1-3 years of experience in a related position.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including basic technical or logical writing experience.
Familiarity with ETL systems as well as data integration standards and best practices.
1 year of experience in technical writing, specifically around gathering technical requirements for ETL and data system changes not required, but preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including simple formulas, sorting, and filtering.
Knowledge of Medicare and the health insurance industry not required, but strongly preferred.
Self-Starting – takes independent action and goes beyond what the job or situation requires.
Ability to be in a multi-faceted role throughout a project lifecycle; be flexible and be able to switch “hats” seamlessly.
Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
