Reporting to the Plant Manager and the Mine Foreman this position will be responsible for loading rigid frame haul trucks with shot rock in the underground mine, moving finished inventory, and, assisting where necessary in the production and maintenance process. What you will get to do:
Must be able to work safely and follow all Federal and State laws and regulations as well as company and site specific policies
Must be able to safely and efficiently load company haul trucks in a tight, underground environment
Must be able to conduct and document pre-operational safety inspections on assigned equipment
Must be able to visually estimate weight when loading trucks
Must be able to grade roads and maintain stockpiles
Communicate repair and safety issues to supervisor and/or mechanic
Available to work weekends and overtime as business demands dictate
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Must perform within the guidelines of federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
Other job duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
High School Diploma or GED
Prefer 2 years prior heavy equipment experience
Experience in production loading in an open pit or underground mine
Frequently lift 10 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

This individual will be responsible for charging plant with raw materials for use in producing concrete.
Duties also include general maintenance at plants on loader and other miscellaneous mechanical duties.
Qualified applicants must be able to frequently climb up and down to heights of 100’ and work in confined spaces.
Loader or other heavy equipment experience required.
Valid driver’s license necessary.

- Properly load material and unload finished parts from dedicated fixtures using provided tools
- Must have a high level of detail, able to measure and visually identify nonconforming conditions and be able to document these instances.
- Maintain effective working relationships with other team members and communicate effectively across different work centers, and skill levels.
- Assists in meeting aggressive work center and company goals by performing direction given by the department area supervisor.
- Accepts change and engages in process improvements by performing direction given by the department supervisor.
- Assists in keeping on time delivery by using the Global Shop ERP system in place and by taking priority direction from department leads.
- Expected to maintain a strong work ethic, attendance record, and quality of work on a continuous basis.
- Must be able to understand and follow all processes and procedures of the company and/or machining area.
- Ability to work on weekends as required by production requirements
- Performs basic preventative maintenance on machine, (Cleaning out Chips in Machine and wiping down machines daily to prevent dirt build up)

Barrett Paving Materials Inc. is seeking an individual to join our team as an entry level loader / asphalt plant operator to work in our Cincinnati and Dayton area manufacturing facilities. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter that can also function well with co-workers and customers. A qualified candidate will have graduated from high school or vocational school, have some experience running heavy equipment and/or a hot mix asphalt plant, have good mechanical aptitude when it comes to repairing/ fabricating equipment or a combination of training and experience. Job Purpose • We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler to operate a front end loader and move material at our TAYLOR MILL, KY manufacturing facility; • Monday through Thursday 4:15pm to 2:45am, with overtime required on some Fridays or, at times, Saturdays. There is an additional $0.75 shift differential for working 2nd shift.
