As an Oil and Tire Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance on our auto rental fleet vehicles such as oil, fluid, and tire changes, repairs and rotations. Depending on your technical expertise, you may be assigned other basic repairs. You may also be asked to assist our more experienced auto mechanics with more complicated repairs. Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
Perform preventative maintenance on our auto rental fleet vehicles such as oil, fluid, and tire changes and rotations.
New car (PDI) and de-fleet prep.
Ensure safe work environment and processes in and around our shops as well as follow all established safety procedures.
Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed properly and in accordance with company's policies as well as manufacturer's standards.
Accurately and descriptively complete Repair Orders within electronic time management system.
Properly maintain necessary equipment and tools.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Automotive Fleet Maintenance Manager or shop lead.
Basic Qualifications/ Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 6 months of automotive maintenance experience or recent auto tech school degree preferred.
Proven mechanical aptitude and skill set in car maintenance required.
Ability to accurately document repairs.
Ability to work flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Duties include changing oil, changing tires, and 13-point inspections. Must be a quick learner, and have some auto mechanical knowledge. Applicants must have an assortment of tools, oil filter wrenches, socket set, and a toolbox to keep them in. The primary purpose of the Utility Mechanic is to perform general and warranty repairs and or/ preventative maintenance checks on all Hertz fleet vehicles.
Responsible for oil/lube/tire changes, 13 point inspections, brake and tire repair, and miscellaneous vehicle repairs.
Responsible for creation/processing of shop repair orders.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate paperwork and reports.
Properly time stamp documents as required.
Follow all company service and safety policies and procedures.
Must own/use your own tools.
High School Diploma required, technical training or certificate preferred
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with various automotive system
Knowledge of brakes, drive train, electrical components, vacuum systems, and body.
Ability with some supervision to use computer-based diagnostic systems
Have experience with using a Scissor Lift
Prior experience doing light automotive mechanics in a shop is required
Ability to work with common hand tools is required.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time with continuous bending and twisting
Must be available to work scheduled hours depending on the needs of the branch
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid Driver's License with clean motor vehicle record

Manager, Cell Chemistry Design
The Manager of Cell Chemistry Design will be responsible for development of new lithium-ion battery designs for lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) and Nickel/Manganese/Cobalt (NMC) chemistries. This person will manage a team of 4-6 scientists and engineers, including BS, MS, and PhD level contributors. The team will be responsible for developing the cell chemistry and layer design. In addition, the Cell Development team will be responsible for generating material, subassembly, and assembly level specifications for all cell components (cathode, anode, electrolyte, and separator), often working with materials vendors and/or other internal stakeholders to align on material and component characteristics. The preferred candidate will have a track record of leadership in product development, an understanding of Tier-1 automotive, the battery industry, as well as the research community.
This person and their team will also interface closely with other functions in cell development and the larger organization. The group will interface frequently with peers in Fundamental R&D to evaluate new materials, Modeling to define requirements, and Validation to test new designs. The group will work with Cell Mechanical Design, defining the cell bill of materials (BOM) as well as all critical chemical and mechanical design parameters. The team will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a product DFMEA and support development of PFMEA and manufacturing control plans, working with Manufacturing teams to transfer processes and designs.
Travel up to 25% (including international) required.
This position will report to Director, Cell Design.
MS in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field of study. PhD preferred.
