Coutside Winery is hiring for General Winery Workers to engage in support tasks related to the winemaking process. Participates in the care, maintenance, and sanitation of all facility equipment and adheres to all safety procedures, support quality and GMP standards.
What You Will Do:
Supports the Central Coast operation of winery equipment in bottling and the cellar (bottling machines, pumps, presses, etc.).
Performs basic sanitation tasks.
Performs tank washing, line and equipment sanitation, including confined space entry.
Ensures all additions to juice or wine are made accurately, per the work orders.
Completes red and white juice racking or product movement activities
Conducts red fermentation processes per the SOP's and the daily fermentation log.
Participates in performing barrel fills, barrel topping, barrel SO2 addition, barrel ingredient additions and barrel out and back duties.
Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate or one year of work experience.
Required to be 18 years of age or older.
Required to be physically capable of executing any job tasks within the bottling room or cellar.
Required to work a rotating shift/schedule throughout the year (day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
Required to work at heights and in fairly small areas.
Required to comply with company GMP Policies.
Required to wear a respirator, when necessary.

The Cellar Operator is responsible for all aspects of cellar work, filtration and centrifuging of product as specified by Harpoon's Standard Operating Procedure.
Ability to perform all cellar operations including the startup and shutdown of facility processes
Cleaning and sanitizing of filtration equipment and lines (CIP, CUP, BB tanks, lines and yeast brinks)

About the Role:
You will be responsible for all cellar duties pertinent to the production of quality wines. Continuously improve on techniques such as racking, blending, barrel work and harvest operations to further the goal of TWE to become the most successful wine company in the world. Operate Cellar equipment such as centrifuges, heat exchangers mixers, plate and frame filters, cross flow filters, sterile filters and others. Must know 85% of Harvest equipment – presses, destemmers, crushers, hoppers, punch down and pump over equipment, for advancement.

Cellar Worker Lead
Wente Vineyards is seeking a Cellar Lead to join our Greenfield, Monterey County Winery Operations Team. This position will be responsible for developing and overseeing Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) compliance for the Arroyo Seco juice plant and wine storage facilities. Responsibilities include identifying areas of improvement, completing repairs and improvements, staying current on FSMA compliance initiatives and ensuring the facility meets and exceeds these standards.
In addition to compliance initiatives, the selected candidate will be responsible for executing various daily cellar operational duties including: racking, pumping, clarifying and blending of juice and wine. Sanitation and sterilization of equipment and work areas. During crush, operates crusher and presses, move hoses and equipment, obtain lab samples, weigh trucks, dispose of lees and clean equipment. Handles shipping and receiving of tanker trucks. Checks temperature of tanks during fermentation, stabilization and storage. Responsible for leading and training contract labor, as needed.
This position will be based in Greenfield (Monterey), CA and require 50% travel to Livermore, CA initially and then 20% travel on an ongoing basis.
Manage the revitalization of the Arroyo Seco juice plant
Gain understanding of FSMA compliance requirements, ensuring the facility meets or exceeds.
Research, provide cost estimates and make recommendations for FSMA compliance initiatives and facility improvements to Director of Cellar Operations and Cellarmaster.

Monitor daily activity at the juice plant and track wine related activities
Ensure that sulfur and tank boards are updated and accurate; perform meticulous record keeping and JDE (database) data entry
Fill and empty tanks and barrels and perform related cellar operational duties
Perform chemical additions
Operation of heavy mechanical, cellar and harvest equipment including but not limited to forklifts, crushers, presses and centrifuges
Provides direction crew and contractors, as needed
Successful candidates will possess:

JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the beer making process by performing the following duties:
Perform duties necessary to maintain a clean and sanitary fermentation cellar.
Follow established SOPs toward accomplishing all needs associated in processing from receipt of wort from brewhaus through fermentation process to finished and ready to package beer.
Clean and maintain all cold side brewing equipment through packaging tank.
Maintain and improve overall sanitation and safety levels of brewery.
Monitor fermentation profiles, progress, and temperatures of vessels and glycol system.
Contribute to brewing process as directed in adding of various ingredients to beer.
Participate in all factors of wooden barrel brewing procedures.
Assist other departments when time allows.
QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must be a great communicator.
Possess a mechanical aptitude.
Candidates should be serious about safety, quality and cleanliness.
