Description and Responsibilities This position is meant to scale and blend raw materials using the proper formulations. These ingredients are measured either by hand or by use of an automatic measuring system. We look to produce quality products at all times.
Maintain a complete understanding of the entire mix system.
Mix raw materials in the proper combination for each different formulation based on the mix specifications.
Use all raw materials using the “first-in/first-out” (FIFO) principle.
Ensure that all raw material containers are covered when not in use.
Communicate with the Operator when difficulties arise, blending mistakes are made, or if equipment problems occur.
Maintain a clean work area (floors and equipment) at all times to avoid product contamination and ensure personnel safety.
Thoroughly clean work area floors prior at the end of the shift.
Attempt to leave all raw materials well stocked and/or bins full at the end of the shift (when appropriate).

Performs sanitation assignments and shutdown cleanup duties as scheduled. Performs other job-related projects, duties and assignments as directed by Production Team Leader.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); along with related experience and/or training. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Food Handler card. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
