Reporting to the Machine Center Manager, the Machine Center operator produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

Machine Operator - 2Nd Shift/Byron Center
This classification may include various general laborer functions such as plug, assembly, finishing, punch press, grinding, running robots and running various machinery. Responsibilities may include loading, moving materials, assisting in loading machines, positioning work, setting up jobs, making adjustments or operating machines, final assembly operations plugging, visual inspections.
Performs hand operations, such as filing, de-burring, cleaning, disc grinding, palletizing, banding, folding, etc. Uses torque wrench and hand tools as needed. Pay range for this position is $12.07 - $14.25 p/hr. 2nd shift premium = 75 cents p/hr.
Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in assembly, forming, fitting and welding
Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand, pallet jack, or dolly
Cleans, scrapes, and grinds metal to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping
Sets up machines and/or helps set up machines for operation and may make minor adjustments as needed; Runs machines after set-up
Checks and monitors the condition of dies, punches, and quality of product being produced
Accurately measures and reads blueprints to check parts for compliance
Picks up and moves scrap from work areas, cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment
Performs final assembly operations
Ensures adequate supply of stock is at station to run machines; operate hoists and slings; fills out production reports and labels product as needed
May conduct helium testing of product, prepare tank for wash line and test and install metal fittings into fuel tanks

All our CNC machines are Mazak so lots of room to grow here at FL Tool if you are a Mazak programmer / operator. The applicant should have tools for checking his / her own work. Some tools can be provided.
This is low production 50pc or less work. Most of the work is "one offs"
The applicant must have experience, understand GD&T tolerance and be proficient at reading a print. Must have a good work ethic, and be reliable. We build High precision spindles, High speed Spindles, tooling and engineered to order gages.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Riverfront Steel, Inc., a metal services center, is seeking motivated employees to perform the functions below for our 2nd and 3rd shifts. Applicants must be responsible, reliable and conscientious to allow us to provide the highest level of service to our customers. In addition, applicants must have basic math skills, good vision, color perception, depth perception and the ability to read and understand work instructions, measuring devices, gauges and controls. Crane Operators - Operating a single and/or dual hoist overhead crane using pendant or remote.
Beam Processors - Measuring and cutting beams with a torch according to order specifications. Moving beams using an overhead crane. This job is physically and mentally challenging. Applicants must be committed and responsible.
Heavy Duty Band Saw Operator - Loading and unloading saws with an overhead crane, measuring accurately with a tape measure and cutting with a horizontal or vertical saw.
Oxy-fuel/Plasma Operators - Loading and unloading burning tables and burn parts using CNC-controlled plasma and oxy-fuel burning machines.
Truck Loaders - Loading trucks with overhead cranes and/or forklifts, reading a tape measure and following directions. Loaders will also grind and clean parts as needed, prepare material for shipping, and move loaded/unloaded trucks and trailers around our facility.
Experience in operating overhead cranes, heavy duty band saw, shear, press brake, drill line, ironworker or cutting torch is a plus.

Steel service center in Bryan, Ohio seeks an experienced machine operator to run cut to length line. Candidates with at least two years of experience working as a machine operator will be considered. Cut to length/sheeting experience very helpful but not necessary. Any mechanically-inclined manufacturing machine operator will be considered.
Set up and operate sheeting line to cut metal coils into sheets of specified length
Maintain machinery and run production within quality specifications while prioritizing safety
Responsible for proper operation of line, including set-ups, maintenance, adjustments, change-overs.
Ability to diagnose quality problems while keeping spoilage and delays to a minimum
Performs housekeeping tasks to keep aisles and work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
Responsible for completing all reports and records related to production, change-overs, and scrap material
Excellent work attendance record, ability to report to work as scheduled and flexibility to work overtime as assigned.
Knowledge of tin mill products a plus, but not necessary.
