Seeking an individual with experience working in a manufacturing plant and/or experience operating a Punch Press or working in a sorting/packing position. We have availability on 1st and 2nd Shift with minimum of 40-50 hours per week. This position reports directly to the Stamping Production Supervisor.
While performing the duties of this job, the Production Department employee must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms, use of fingers, handle or feel. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is important for normal conversations, to receive ordinary or vital information and to prepare and inspect documents. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate-loud.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Familiar with the Quality Policy and Objectives
Completion of Production Paperwork
Obtain the required forms, specifications and instructions from QC
Performance of -process inspections as required
Following Packaging / Labeling instructions per shop paper or other instructions
Report press/ die problems to supervisor, reporting of actual or potential product quality issues to QC or Supervisor
Stopping production when known or suspected nonconforming conditions exist
Ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs
Housekeeping in all areas
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Preferred High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience working in a manufacturing plant
Experience operating a Punch Press is a plus
Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Must be able to work as a team member and not an individual

Essential Job Duties
Sets up and operates equipment to punch/cut sheet metal according to blueprints or product specifications.
Tests and adjusts equipment to control speed, material feed and path of the punch; sets up programming, according to blueprints or product specifications.
Reads work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as quantity, tooling and materials to be used, dimensions and/or tolerances.
Ensures equipment is working at full capacity and is stocked with needed materials.
Performs periodic checks on output; measures completed parts to verify conformance to specifications.
Monitors equipment operations for proper punching of parts; records operational data; identifies and reports production and/or parts issues to management.
Separates parts from sheet metal blanks.
Completes and maintains relevant documentation with correct information and data.
Performs preventative maintenance tasks to maintain equipment performance and prevent machine downtime.
Strong mechanical and technical skills
Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (e.g., blueprints, drawings, etc.)

Punch Press Operator
This position will be responsible for the safe operation of secondary metal stamping presses to supply quality stator and rotor lamination to the operation.
Operates mechanical metal stamping press in a safe and correct manner
Correctly load slit steel coils onto dereeler and feed coil through the metal stamping press
Performs and document required visual and physical quality inspections per product requirements
Correctly identify and label finished rotor and stator laminations
Disposition and record non-conforming product
Reads, interprets and complies with production schedules
Maintain organization, housekeeping and 5S of work area
Communicate safety, mechanical, and production issues to Set Up and/or Supervisor
Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
High School Degree or General Education Degree.
Over three months and up to twelve months required to become familiar with position.
Requires reading and writing, addition and subtraction of whole numbers to maintain paperwork, follow standard operating procedures, and maintain quality. Strong self-initiative/ judgement to plan; use of fixed gauges or instruments; part prints interpretation is required.
Operator must be able to understand process control plans and production schedules press operation equipment limitations to maintain press in operating conditions to produce to rate with quality parts.
Use of and ability to obtain and maintain forklift, and overhead crane certification. Good communication skills to relay information to other operators and supervision.

Punch press operators are responsible for setting up and operating a variety of punch presses and other miscellaneous machines such as washers, blasters, and off-setters to produce sidebars, attachments and miscellaneous components. Operations within the department include; blanking, offsetting, hot forming, piercing and other jobs assigned.
The job includes setting up and running parts to Rexnord quality standards, ensuring press is in good operating conditions, properly documenting properly filled out all required paperwork, and area is kept clean and orderly. Operators will be responsible for all work performed in this department from scheduling, setup, inspection, washing, and trucking their own parts and other duties with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
1.Acquire tooling as appropriate for job and set up machine. After punch press operation, remove tooling and transfer tooling back to tool crib and sidebars to respective locations as appropriate.
2.Punch press operation.
3.Ability to read and follow blueprints, routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, inspection cards and drawings. Inspect for various defects during operation of presses, and accurately document such inspections using a inspection card. Ability to troubleshoot and correct defective parts. Segregate defects and communicate to Supervisor or Quality Department.
4.Ability to learn and use various measurement and testing equipment (CMM, Height gauges, hardness tester, micrometers, calipers, 6" rule, etc..)
5.Ability to become a certified forklift operator.
6.Ability to identify operational problems and ask for assistance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1.High school diploma or equivalent.
2.1-3 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for the daily setup and operation of Cincinnati and Amada hydraulic CNC controlled punch presses in a just-in-time fabrication shop with some assistance provided. The Punch Press Operator may be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as required
Set up and operate both a manual and hydraulic press or punch for routine established work.

To adjust and operate punch press equipment. To punch, blank, stamp, draw and form metal parts utilizing dies varying from single blanking to compound, combination or progressive dies and from put and take to automatic operations.
Parts must be made to print and process specifications.
Responsible for own set-ups, and for inspecting own parts.
Responsible for following safety rules, producing quality workmanship, and for good housekeeping in and around the work area.
Completion of all associated paperwork and record keeping as required.
May operate power equipment such as lift trucks, standup lift trucks and other equipment involved in moving, and/or locating parts, material, jigs, fixtures, dies and scrap tanks.
