The Verona plant became part of Ball's metal food & household products packaging division, Americas, in 2010 when Ball acquired Neuman Aluminum. The plant originally opened in 1986 and manufacturers approximately 24,500 metric tons of aluminum discs (slugs) for impact extrusion annually.
The plant is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, surrounded by the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains. Within a short drive of the State and Nation's Capital there is plenty to do and see whether it be culture related activities, great dinning or enjoying the mountains, streams and lakes.
Primary Purpose of Position:
Employee is responsible for banding, racking, and moving coils and transporting them to storage. Employee must be able to operate the controls at the coiler table. Employee is responsible for relieving at the wheel; including monitoring quality, controlling the flow of molten metal from the furnace to the wheel where it cools and is processed.
Essential Functions and
Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
Feed and band coils; take coils off coiler and band.
Monitor degasser for proper working condition, clean every 15 minutes.
Assure Chlorine and Argon tanks are filled to the proper level. Replace tanks when empty.
Check/monitor slab/strip for cracks, blisters, oxides, or other visible damage/defects.
Make sure that all dross in aluminum is taken out by skimming.
Check speed and rotation of degasser shaft; allow metal to run through degasser.
Open furnace and allow molten aluminum to exit through tap hole.
Control rate of metal to fill small tilt furnaces; skim/scrape tilt furnaces.
Monitor metal as it enters the wheel and cools; clean and examine belt and wheel.
Complete wheel/belt sheet including belt condition, spray/sand belt/wheel, and temperature.
Any other tasks as assigned by management including; assisting management in the training of new employees.
Regular, consistent and on-time attendance is required.

The Casting Operator is tasked with assisting the Production Supervisor with achieving all established safety, environmental, quality, production and financial goals on a facility-wide basis. Individual should be well rounded and able to perform many of the different tasks associated with running the facility as a Casting Operator, Baghouse Operator, Battery Breaker, Aqua Refining Operator, and/or shipping and receiving functions.

SO WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Under the direction of the Building Services Area Supervisor, this position is responsible for completing routine service maintenance & the repair of Centrifugal chillers and Screw chillers and all related mechanical equipment in central plants.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Schedule routine maintenance for assigned customer(s) in accordance with ACCOs approved internal procedures.
Complete routine and dispatched assignments in a timely, efficient manner each maintenance period or within promised timeframes, and maintain contact with office dispatch before, during, and prior to close of ACCO standard dispatch hours.
Purchase or order required tools and equipment required for routine maintenance or requested repairs.
Fully prepare mechanic work orders/authorizations and follow approved procedures for documenting work performed, related tool purchases, customer work approval, and any other relevant information.
Escalate customer service issues that extend beyond authority or assistance to assigned Area Supervisor or customers assigned Service Sales personnel.
Display proper service appearance and deportment while on customer premises, and utilize ACCO property (e.g., service truck, cell phone, and/or laptop) appropriately.
Other duties as assigned by the Area Supervisor and/or General Service Manager.
Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.)
High school diploma, Certificate of G.E.D or H.S.P.E. with passing grade in Algebra and Geometry or Associate of Science (AS) degree in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration curriculum from a JJATC/JAC approved Community College, Trade, or Technical School.
5 years experience directly maintaining, servicing and overhauling centrifugal chillers, screw chillers of all brands. Good working knowledge of central plants. HVAC mechanical service and repair.

To set up and operate cylindrical grinding machine to perform all types of body and neck, straight, crown, and taper grinding
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
Cylindrical for performing all types of body and neck, straight, crown and taper grinding, grinding wheels, mechanical and diamond wheel dresser, micrometers, scales, wrenches, cat heads, journal blocks, sine bars, crowning attachments, etc.
Receives job instructions and drawing from Foreman
Locates and hooks roll; directs Craneman in positioning piece in grinder and removing finished piece for placement in a designated area
Sets up and adjusts machine controls, feeds and speeds for all types of straight, crown, or taper body and neck grinding to obtain required reduction and finish. Sets up and adjusts crowning device for proper crown specifications and dimensions. Sets grinder for proper taper grinding set up and works mostly to tolerances of .001 on diameters and scale measurements on lengths; performs necessary layout work to obtain proper length specifications. Rough and finish grinds on centers for all types of roll grinding work. May set up and grind on catheads or journal blocks, if required
Most rolls are ground to a good commercial finish and required to finish grind rolls to customer specifications
Uses micrometers, scales, templates, etc. to check and record body and neck dimensions. Uses dial indicator to check run-out, as required
Uses diamond or mechanical dresser to dress straight, radii or forms on grinding wheels, as specified by print to obtain required finish; balances wheels
Changes grinding wheels, as required. Changes centers, as required
Cleans, lubricates, adjusts, and makes minor repairs to machine
Maintains a clean and orderly working area

Die Casting Process Engineer
Develops processes to support the Safety Systems Division in their efforts to increase productivity and quality by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Introduce all measures necessary to maintain best possible standards and process-reliable conditions in a highly automated, High-pressure Die Casting process. Responsible for supporting die designs, set-up samples and trial evaluations, including replacement dies or new model dies.
Participate in the development and implementation of improvement plans that target cycle time reductions and minimalize scrape. Experience with Die Cast tooling. Ability to manage die design and manufacture of Die Cast dies and all of its components.
Conducts activities to assure quick delivery, on-time launch/prototype parts of continually improving quality. Interface with design personnel at development stage to suggest designs that will improve efficiency and reduce cost. Communicate with quality assurance in developing dimensional, ES testing specifications to point out potential high scrap items and deal with them before design in complete.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S. / B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write trial reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY AND PROBLEM SOLVING SYNTHESIS
Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze data and form hypothesis. Must have ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or sketched form.

Foundry Casting Processor (1St Shift)
Eaton Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse, New York is looking for a Foundry Casting Processor to work first shift in our Iron Foundry department.
Perform a wide variety of duties throughout the foundry areas following standard procedures and/or work instructions.
Duties involve transporting materials, castings and/or equipment with either a fork truck or payloader.
Use a variety of rough grinding equipment, portable hand power tools and bench grinders as necessary to remove parting lines, gates, riser, flash and other surface defects as prescribed.
Change own small inspect grinding wheels or bits or dress wheels as necessary according to job requirement or when worn, place prescribed wheel or abrasive belt on machine or select wheels or belts within narrow limits.
Operate other power equipment to cut sprues, gates, risers and runners.
Operate bandsaw and change blade as required. Operate power vac, repair ladles, dump and shakeout molds, hook off and shovel castings, etc.
Setup and operate automatic molding machines as assigned and/or following work instructions. Operate shot blast cleaning equipment.
Fill small cavities with lab metal and smooth.
Patch surface imperfections within Q.C. standards and operate automatic floor sweeper.
Perform minor maintenance duties such as tightening loose parts (spray nozzles, etc.), replacing parts (sprues, etc.), clean assigned work area.
Detect and report all defective materials; refer questionable cases to proper supervision. Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations.
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Minimum one year experience in a manufacturing environment
