Sets up and maintains the deep draw, trimming, piercing, Udylite system and grit blast machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Perform twisting, bending, reaching and forceful repetitive motions that require the use of shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, waist, legs and neck to lift parts from metal pans.
Place parts on machine holding devices and removes them after they have been machined.
Operate computer controlled equipment throughout the shift.
Lift up to 40 pounds from floor to waist level throughout the shift.
Stand on concrete floors for 8 hours every day.
Ability to work in a noisy, dirty environment.

What you'll do on a typical day:
Operate Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) driven state-of-the-art high-speed bagging machinery with attached automatic cartoner machines
Supply the scale with intermediate components and bagging materials (film) to keep the machine running
Operate the bagging machine with minimal waste to finished product and packaging material
Perform quality assurance checks throughout the day, inspecting for packaging defects, material defects, and quality
Troubleshoot machinery breakdowns, clean machine jams, and align rolls of bagging materials in an effort to minimize downtime and promote productivity; assist mechanic with more complex machinery breakdowns and repairs
Perform periodic adjustments on the bagging machine and scale to ensure that it is always performing at peak efficiency
Provide hourly count reports of production and downtime
Perform general housekeeping duties around the machine such as sweeping floors, and cleaning machine parts, supply tables, rework tables, etc.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
High school diploma or equivalent
1 year of warehouse experience
Ability to measure using a ruler for proper alignment requirements
Ability to speak, read (fine print), and write in English, follow verbal and written directions, write simple correspondence, and effectively communicate with others
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and work in a warehouse environment that is not climate-controlled
Ability to safely walk, reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel as necessary to perform job duties
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance

Knowledge to independently operate a bagging machine and produce a quality product in a team-based environment
Ability to be cross-trained to operate different style bagging machines
