JOB SUMMARY: The Cylinder Preparation Technician operates equipment within the cylinder preparation area in accordance with Airgas standard work procedures to properly prepare high pressure gas cylinders for production. Responsible for safety, product quality, and productivity during the work shift.
This allows the facility to meet the commitments to its customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Cylinder Preparation Technician operates the gas manifolds and bake out units to ensure proper evacuation of cylinders in order complete customer orders. Gases disposed of must be efficiently purged in accordance with EPA Regulations. Cylinder Preparation Technicians must be aware of the cylinder and valve inspection process to ensure that gases are disposed on and stored according to federal, state, local, and company requirements.
Specific duties include: • Following strict work procedures to ensure proper cylinder preparation. • Final preparation of cylinders to meet Airgas semiconductor cylinder appearance program. • Moving compressed gas cylinders into and out of the prep area. • Loading compressed gas cylinders onto and off of cylinder pallets. • Maintaining equipment in the prep area. • Consolidation of residual refrigerant gases by means of cold cylinder and cold coil transfer. • Job activities may occur indoors or outdoors exposing Cylinder Preparation Technicians to inclement weather. • Support Management team with regard to maintenance of Health and Safety and ISO Quality programs. Work in a storage yard removing outer hood (covering) from pallets before loading shipping containers. Ensure and maintain a clean work environment by routinely sweeping and removing plastic pellets off of the packaging warehouse floor. Specific responsibilities include:
- Responsible for handling finished product.
- Removes outer hood of stacks just before loading from storage locations to loading islands.
- Verifies lot numbers and pallet counts before loads or stacks go into containers and trailers.
- Performs quality control activities.
- Performs scrap and exception handling.
- Performs repair of broken stacks.
- Bin verification/ bin audits.
- Ensures clean work space and performs housekeeping activities.
- Responsible for identifying and eliminating potential slip hazards within the facility by sweeping plastic pellets.
- Conduct periodic checks of forklift as per the checklist provided.
- Collects empty liners for recycling.
- Prepares containers with inner liners.
- Supports pallet recovery and repair.
- Supports maintenance work.
Must have the ability to speak, write, read, hear and have good vision. Must be able to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold. Position Summary Position Summary and Special Duties •Perform stamping and hardening/tempering operations on blade strip using notch and perforating presses, furnaces, and coil make up equipment. With this equipment raw steel strip is perforated through the presses then hardened and tempered through the furnaces.
Use process control methods to achieve optimum machine settings and perform all machine adjustments. Required to pay close attention to detail and procedures to assure the highest strip quality. Operate all strip preparation equipment as required.
