Engine Test Checker - 12 Hour Rotating - (Jw15505)
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Engine Testing: Perform a variety of engineering tests on various engine types (B&S and competitors): (examples: dynamometer, horsepower, oil consumption etc¿) within the test house according to engineering standards. Activities include align and mount engine to stand maintain running engines (oiling) as instructed, record results as required in Excel or SAP
Engine Analysis. Activities include teardown / build up engines; gage/measure & record wear on engine parts (pistons, rods, rings, crankshaft, etc¿), measure and record defects
Engine Repairs: Teardown, evaluates, and repair engine. Can include valve jobs and/or changing rings/pistons on engine.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education / Experience / Skill Requirements
Demonstrate working knowledge of PC and PLC (Micro master)
Demonstrate working knowledge of internal combustion engine, and ability to perform teardowns and repairs to engine
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good mechanical skills are required
Prior experience with SAP and Microsoft Excel preferred
Ability to give attention to detail
Ability to perform occasional lifting of engines up to 100# with help as needed
Ability to perform occasional bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, and reaching
Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift

Reviews Engineering Design Documentation consisting of Drawing, Engineering Order and Parts List for consistency with company standards, design quality, requirements and it's correct interpretation. Also reviews 3D models used to produce 2D design are properly associated and provide repeatibility and correct representation in the Digital Aircraft model. Constant interaction with Design teams to review / discuss issues and agree on acceptable solutions.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
Experience designing mechanical and / or structural parts, assemblies or installations for aircraft
At least 7 years of experience with CATIA and PLM Systems (preferably Teamcenter)
Experience working with GD&T
Experience checking Aerospace Drawings
BS Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
Experience with composite materials is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Very familiar with aircraft production and assembly methods

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures that the quantity, quality and labeling and addressing of outbound orders.
Reports shortages, damages and mis-shipments.
