Position: Chemical Process Specialist
Hours: 8AM - 5PM M-F
- Process selection and sizing for tenders, requiring both experience of the technology and thorough knowledge of company design tools;
- Complete integrated process designs using company equipment as well as third party equipment;

Refinery Experienced Process Design Chemical Engineer
PROCESS is currently seeking one Process Design Engineer with specific experience in refining process operations and/or design including hands-on HYSYS simulation skills. This position is available in our Oak Ridge, TN office location.
Additional experience in upstream oil & gas processing or the chemicals industry is desired but not required. Duties will include executing process design and engineering projects targeted for the petroleum refining industry but may also include chemicals industry projects as well. Candidates must be willing to travel as assignments may be both domestic and international.

The successful applicant is expected to contribute to the leadership of the UCI Combustion Laboratory. This faculty hiring initiative is associated with a UC Irvine program to advance and sustain the standing of major university centers. Chemical Processes. Chemical processes are integral to power generation and transportation systems that involve the transformation of the energy chemically bound in an energy carrier or fuel. In heat engines, the preparation of the fuel/air mixture, including atomization and evaporation, chemical kinetics and mixing govern both the heat release in the oxidation of a fuel as well as the formation and removal of pollutant species both within the combustion process as well as in after-treatment systems. In fuel cells, coupled chemical and electrochemical processes govern stack performance characteristics. In the production of practical fuels, contaminant removal from renewable fuels, and processing of fuels to make desired products, chemical processes are the cornerstone to system design, control and performance optimization. The successful applicant will interface with faculty in combustion, fuel cell research, transportation studies, and air and water resources in teamed, interactive, transdisciplinary collaborative research. Founded in 2006, Orolia is based in Sophia-Antipolis, France and has additional offices in France, China, Russia, Switzerland, the U.K. Position Summary To provide support to the Products & Processes Quality Manager in the operation of Quality Assurance functions & Quality Engineering tasks. This is to include hands on experience and implementation of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards, Supplier Management and communications and Quality control.
To provide independent assurance to business unit management that projects are executed in accordance with defined processes and that agreed customer quality requirements are realized in line with planned customer Requirements. To provide specialist quality assurance to support Customers and Project Managers while ensuring receipt and delivery of agreed quality requirements throughout the project phases. Position Responsibilities Support in promoting continuous improvement to all personnel to ensure that the highest possible standard of performance is achieved throughout the business.
To interact with business project managers and operations to provide quality support relating to business projects. To advise and support in creating and establishing adequate QMS processes and procedures which meet the scope of intent. Conduct internal audits to ensure that processes are in compliance with ISO9001 AS9100 requirements, to support other departments and support process owners with a focus on risk and opportunity management, eliminating non-conformance and promote continuous improvements.
To maintain the internal audit schedule in compliance with ISO9002, AS9100 requirements. Conduct external audits to ensure that suppliers are in compliance with ISO9001, AS9100 requirements, to support the sourcing and procurement departments and maintain a supplier interface with focus on eliminating non-conformance and promote continuous improvement of supplier performance. To ensure that all potential non-conformities are identified, contained, and dispositioned (NCR, SCAR, OBS, CRI and /or LL) and where necessary conduct root cause analysis.
To support the MRB process and champion the deployment of investigations using quality tools and methodology to promote continuous improvement. To ensure verification and follow up actions are defined, recorded and assessed for effectiveness to avoid reoccurrence of failure/non-conformance. To comply with monthly recording and reporting requirements, train personnel in quality standards and techniques, and to facilitate business meetings to provide support and promote continuous improvement.
Other duties as assigned by management. Experience Required Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100, including equivalent def standards. ISO900 group standards Knowledge of MAA/UK MoD standards would be an advantage.
Configuration control standards and practices, eg: Defense Standard 05-57 Life cycle of development processes including activities that lead to the issue of a certificate of design or declaration of design and performance. Auditing experience (helpful but not required) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Good inwards inspection/line inspection Release signatory inspections of documentation and product Procedure amendments and updates.
Quality improvement techniques. Advance Quality planning techniques such as SPC and FMEA's ERP Skills and Competencies Requirements Communication skills to deliver detailed information to customers at all levels within the business Ability to work independently, without supervision Computer literate Ability to work as part of a team Ability to follow written procedures and suggest improvements Ability to write clear and concise reports to both suppliers and customers.
