Chemical Clean Processor is responsible for sequentially moving parts through certain chemical tanks based on detailed specifications controlled by the company. You are required to run parts in the order of priority set by your manager to ensure we meet customer demand. The position of Chemical Clean Processor performs this role in a skilled area of work in the production department. The work is of a technical nature and decisions are made within the limits of general IMPAKT CLEAN procedures, specifications and safety guidelines.
- Assist when required to rack parts supporting customer requirements.
- Process parts in tanks per Job Traveler instructions and other requirements established by your manager.
- Give guidance to staff racking parts to make sure they rack parts properly before they are loaded into tanks.
- Give guidance to staff un-racking parts to make sure they un-rack parts properly and carefully to avoid damage.
- Remove parts from tanks after specific times, rinse and dry parts properly then move to un-racking
- Perform visual inspection to ensure parts coming off the line are properly cleaned.
- Reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to appropriate manager or quality personnel.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition that follow safety policies and procedures.
- Follow all written procedures and processes.
- Completes paperwork as required by company and processing guidelines.
- Report any broken or damaged equipment.
- Ensure all hazardous waste material is disposed of properly any problems please notify Chemist.
- Adhere to all company safety and environmental standards and OSHA requirements

Clean and preserve components in preparation for plating and/or pre- assembly inspection through use of Superwash process.
De-Smut/Vibratory deburr components to achieve specified corner breaks and surface finishes through use of Tumble process.
Perform Post-Tumble cleaning prior to visual inspection through use of Tumble Wash process.
Perform visual inspection of own work to determine process adequacy.
Perform calibration and chemical analysis of all processes prior to use.
Make chemical/media adds as necessary to maintain systems within specified percentage tolerances.
Drain and rebuild tanks/drums as necessary to change out media and/or in preparation for maintenance/service events.
Train personnel as required.

Chemical Etch Tank Attendant

Employees in this job monitor tank lines that chemically clean and/or etch parts. Tank attendants use established processes to calculate etch rates and times to remove selected material, to accomplish specified weight, dimensions or contours per engineering specifications. Employment in this position also requires lifting and carrying less than 10 pounds, handling, rotation of head/neck, standing, walking, contact with acids, alkalis and metals, and the use of personal safety gear for face/eye, hand/arm and feet.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtain work package from Kanban system, ready to work rack, as delivered to work station, reviewing tie-in from prior shift or as assigned by area lead or supervisor.
Review Work Order (W/O) to determine work to be performed, verify that prior operations have been completed and ensure quantity and part numbers are correct.
Obtain and review appropriate drawings, Boeing (BAC) specifications, set up cards or any other necessary documents to complete the job.
Use on-line information systems (e.g., Bold/Web), as required. Review setup cards to determine etch rates, tank times and racking procedures, revise or make new set up cards, as required.
Operate material handling equipment (e.g., electric stacker, overhead crane) to move heavy parts to the work area.
Ask for assistance from co-workers as needed.
Check parts to determine if prior operations are complete; verify that parts have the correct number of peeled pockets, scribe lines are the correct shape, sealant was applied, as required and that there are no discrepancies in the maskant (e.g., peeling/thin spots).
Use liquid maskant to touch up minor discrepancies or return parts to scribe or maskant area, as required.
Prepare parts for chemical/etch milling; plug or seal precision holes, K-holes and/or tooling holes in parts by applying liquid maskant, teflon tape or inserting rubber plugs, as required.
Hang parts in baskets or on racks, check set up card to verify racking procedures and to select racking tools, as required (e.g., clamps, hooks, carousels).
Ensure that the part will be completely submerged into the tank.
Rinse parts using a sprayer and hose prior submerging in chem-mill tanks or wipe down with solvents, as required.
Continue to use sprayer and hose to rise parts at appropriate steps in the chemical/etch milling and cleaning process.
Attach spanners and weights, as required ensure weights are sufficient to keep part from floating in tank.
Gauge parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., digital or hand micrometer) to calculate etch times and determine the amount of material to be removed.
Operate tank line and monitor process for correct dip times, tank levels and temperatures, check racks for part fall off. Rotate parts, as required.
Notify Batteryman when temperature, tank level, and chemicals need adjusting.
Route completed parts to next workstation; match W/O with correct parts, unrack, wrap and load parts into material handling equipment, as required.
Handle and dispose of hazardous material in an approved manner (e.g., alodine, and solvents). Leave oral or written tie-in for following shift.
Contact supervisor, area lead or co-worker with questions, when assistance is needed or when any problems arise.

Job Title: Chemical Operator (Monroe, Ohio)
This is a hands-on position that is part of the Production Team in a plant manufacturing setting.
The person will have the ability to change shifts, work weekends, holidays, and overtime.

This is an hourly position.
ADM Clinton Bioprocessing is seeking Chemical Process Operators for the production of fermentation products at our facility in Clinton, IA. This position includes working a rotating shift as part of a team in a chemical manufacturing process including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required. In this position you will:

Primary focus of this individual will be evaluate different painting systems (Autophoretic, Electrostatic Spray & Electro-Deposition Dip), develop equipment specifications, work with suppliers to implement the proper systems in Tenneco North America facilities plus evaluate different coatings. Experience in oils, grease, adhesives, sealants, plastics, composites and metals would be considered a plus. Provide manufacturing with technical assistance in the day to day operations to produce the highest quality product that meets all specifications at the lowest manufacturing cost.
Complete understanding of coatings theory, practice and application.
Excellent lab skills, techniques and experience.
Solid program/project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
Self-directed and motivated, with good written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
Ability to travel to suppliers, plants and customer locations to support development requirements (20 - 30% maximum).
Ability to lead and function in a team environment, while effectively communicating across various levels of the organization.
Bachelor's degree in materials engineering, chemistry or chemical engineering.
3-5 years of industry experience
Training and experience in Lean, 5-S and Six Sigma highly desirable.
