Ecolab is searching for a Chemical Mixer to join our team at our Pilot Plant location in Eagan, MN.
Location: Eolab's Engineering Center: 940 Lone Oak Road, Eagan, MN 55121 – just five minutes from Ecolab's Schuman Campus where you can enjoy access to exercise facilities and outside walking or running trails.
Adheres to all federal, local, and departmental safety, quality, and environmental regulations and policies, and to conduct himself/herself at all times in a manner so as to avoid endangering self, coworkers, equipment, property, surrounding community, and the environment.
Identifies and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and other tools/equipment provided by Ecolab to safely perform a job, and holds teammates accountable to do the same. Tools used may include, but are not limited to: drum tippers and movers, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
Identifies and corrects unsafe conditions before the condition becomes a
problem. Escalates any potential safety, quality or inefficiency issues to Production Team Leaders. Actively participates in safety training programs and promotes a safety culture.
Owns the entire process of mixing chemical batches according to specifications, including accurate measuring raw materials, setting up equipment, monitoring process and cleaning up.
Ensures raw materials are available in the PSA (Product Supply Area) for mixing operations to be completed.
Sets up and operates equipment that fills final container with finished product.
Ensures filling equipment settings are correct to manage amount of product flow, product temperature, and other variables that may affect production.
Ensures that mix instructions and specifications (experimental and in-line) are followed as written. Notifies Team Leader and Engineering of any potential deviations needed and gains support before proceeding.
Performs routine observation of product during the mixing and filling process to ensure batch quality, and brings any issues to manager. Reports any out-of-spec raw materials, premixes or mixed batches.
Manufactures batches according to ICR and GMP procedures.
Collaborates with Production Team Leaders and Plant Engineering to facilitate efficient production, platform upgrades and new equipment validations.
Reviews the status of operations with the next shift (as applicable) to ensure continued operation of the plant and to produce quality product in a safe and efficient manner.
Owns a specific work area by operating, maintaining, and improving the area to deliver performance targets (safety, quality, and manufacturing metrics). Maintains work areas consistent with the TPM program.
Improves existing industrial manufacturing standards.
Operates Fork Lifts and other material handling equipment appropriately and safely.
Performs building and equipment preventative maintenance.
Develops and drives an annual individual performance and development plan. Regularly assesses progress against the plan and proactively identifies any barriers to achieving the plan.
Participates in process transfers, Job Safety Analysis, continuous improvement and loss elimination projects, and other Supply Chain and/or Research & Development initiatives.
Performs batch adjustments as needed.
Assumes and completes other duties as assigned.
Work requires the level of educational development normally acquired through completion of a high school degree or equivalent
Ability to occasionally work longer shifts and/or rotating off shifts as needed, based on production demands
Previous experience in plant operations, preferably in a chemical plant
Previous mixing experience, preferably chemical mixing
Ability to meet physical demands, including frequent standing, reaching, and handling; lifting up to 55 lbs. and moving up to 600 lb. drums with the appropriate equipment

Perform production waste handler duties in accordance with Hazardous Waste Policy. Work with peer leads, shift supervisor, engineering, and maintenance personnel in priority setting and equipment repairs; and for timeliness of equipment preparation for maintenance Instruct and train new operators and keeps the shifts up to date on Management of Change issues and procedural revisions and required regulatory training Provide regular coaching/mentoring to Mixing team operators and works well with others in a team environment. This position is responsible for mixing a variety of soy, rice, almond based liquid products through written batch records via Oracle and verbal instructions. Ensures the quality and efficiency standards are being met through reduced scrap loss and yield improvements. Follows all GMP and PPE requirements for the safety of others and oneself. Coordinates the set-up of mixing area following batch records for a variety of soy based products, CIP and sanitizing a variety of mixing and processing equipment to be completed in a timely manner. Maximizes the quality of products produced and the efficiency of the department.
Perform routine maintenance on all the mixing equipment. This includes but not limited to: valves, replacing"o"rings, homogenizer packing and oil, and gaskets. Document in written form parts needed to be ordered.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties involving area equipment
Be able to start-up and shut down all the equipment as it relates to the mixing area
Understanding of the flow process for all mix areas
Identify all critical control points with the understanding of their function as it relates to the mixing area
Prepare and maintain all records and charts in a neat and orderly fashion
Identify all critical control points with the understanding of their function as it relates to the mixing area
Understand terminology of the mixing equipment
Communicate with warehouse, process operator and supervisor on any delays or problems in the mix area that would hinder the flow of product
Monitor the mixing operation ensuring ingredients are correct through the staging and mixing process of the product

Perform a variety of quality checks to assure standards are met
Direct the transfer of batched product to the storage vessels
Take samples for the quality department
Relieve other production team members for breaks and absences as required.

Serves an active role in the plant safety program by attending safety meetings, participating in monthly safety inspections and reporting any potential safety hazards to the safety committee or Management team
Adheres to all Quality Assurance System guidelines
Follows SOP's (standard operating procedures) to make adjustments, to ensure the manufacturing of high quality aseptic products
Responsible for compliance with the GMP's, HACCP and SQF program

New French Bakery is seeking qualified Production Line Operators and Mixers for our bakery manufacturing environment. We run a fast-paced production plant in Minneapolis which produces over 60,000 pounds of bread daily.
As a Mixer, you will be responsible for mixing and monitoring ingredients to ensure products are mixed within specifications to produce quality bread products. Mixer Operator (2nd Shift) – Abilene, KS

This is an hourly position.
The role of Mixer Operator is responsible for the following duties:
Operation of the mixer
Monitor processing equipment
Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Promotes the ADM Way and Core Values
Ability to drive a forklift
Ability to multi-task
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 55 lbs on a regular bais
Basic computer skills
Strong safety and math aptitude
Strong attention to detail with ability to work effectively as a team member

JOB SUMMARY: Weighs and mixes dry and liquid ingredients to make batter to produce pancakes and waffles. Dumps ingredients in mixing machine and monitors in order to ensure formula and consistency; releases batter to the cooking lines and regularly cleans work area.
Tends machine that mixes ingredients such as salt, flour, eggs and soda to produce batter according to formula.
Weighs and mixes ingredients in mixing tank.
Hands stirs mix with 3' long spatula.
Records information regarding ingredients and timing.
Receives instructions from Cook in person or on telephone regarding the mixes needed.
Records temperature of mixes.
Must be free of identified pathogens spread by infected persons handling food such as Hepatitis A, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus, etc.
Must understand and follow safety/Food safety (SQF)/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards at all times.
Mintain timely and regular attendance.
Must be able to work overtime to meet production deadlines.
Must be able to rotate to position of Production Specialist.
Responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Other production specific duties as needed.
