Armstrong Flooring, Inc. in Warren, AR. currently has a Sander Feeder position available on 2nd shift. Work hours will normally be from 3:30pm to 11:30pm with overtime as needed. Work schedule is typically from Monday thru Friday. The work environment is fast paced manual and repetitive labor in a non-temperature controlled production mill environment. The job requires excellent hand and eye coordination. The ideal candidate must be willing to work with a sense of urgency at all times.
Pay: $14.29 Start Pay; $14.49 at 45 Days; $14.64 at 90 days
SUMMARY: Placing wood in the rails which go through the sander while ensuring that no overlapped boards are fed, and no gaps between boards or backward boards are fed into sander.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Responsible for following Job Safety Analysis guidelines to ensure safe operations
Grab boards from above the conveyor belt
Inspect boards for obvious defects or crook
Pull out boards with obvious defects or crook and place in rework jig
Place good boards in assigned lanes according to sander feeder guidelines
Monitor and feed assigned lanes rapidly in order to maintain production requirements
Keep area clean during and at the end of each shift
Perform other assigned tasks as needed
Successful applicants will meet the following requirements:
Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 10 lbs.
Must be able to stand on feet for 8-9 hours daily while performing repetitive manual labor
Must be able to pass a drug test, employment verification and background check
Prior manufacturing experience

The Product Feeder position exists to feed raw materials to the production line in order to maintain continual operation of the production line. Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, this individual must be able to remain fully attentive of their work surroundings while working at a steady pace to supply a continually moving, high speed production line. They must be able to multitask and learn different work assignments. Individuals must be able to adapt to various work assignments, must keep their work area clean and follow all safety and Good Manufacturing guidelines. In addition, individuals must work well with others in a supportive team environment in order to meet production quality and quantity standards, while reducing waste and rework and minimizing downtime.
Perform visual checks of raw materials, spice mixtures and package integrity.
Following batch sheet accurately measures and adds ingredients to spice mixtures which blend and feed to the production line.
Maintains proper level of blended product in the hopper to ensure the production line has an adequate supply of product to prevent downtime.
Performs rework of finished goods or raw materials.
Assists in clean up of production equipment during product change over.
Assists QC with magnet checks.
Monitors handling unit tags by writing the process order on the handling unit tag, removing the handling unit tag from the pallet and placing in the current bin. When pallet board is completely used, the handling unit tag is placed in the consumed bin.
Completes Sanitation Inspection sheet with Quality Control Technician on a daily basis.
Performs daily housekeeping duties in the work area and occasional housekeeping duties in the plant or warehouse areas including sweeping, vacuuming, collecting trash, washing walls and equipment.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a consistent daily basis
Must have the ability to read, write and perform simple math calculations in order to accurately measure amounts of ingredients.
Must be able to work overtime on a frequent basis and on weekends as required by scheduling/production demands.
Able to communicate effectively and work well with others.
Able to work in a dusty environment with strong odors

Set up and operate automated and non-automated external, internal, surface or centerless grinding machines to perform routine and repetitive rough and finish grinding operations.
Follow standard grinding practices, ordinary drawings, specifications, operation sheets and specific instructions to perform a variety of routine production operations to grind I.D., O.D., radii, tapers, grooves, recesses, threads, faces and shoulders on all assigned types and forms of materials.

Perform other related work of a comparable or lower skill level, including deburring, polishing and part marking.
Maintain quality standards by checking work visually and with basic measuring instruments; record data manually or electronically as required.

Position Purpose: To perform duties of rough grinding process or the finish grinding process of rods which may include troubleshooting, set up and general maintenance of machine.

Operator will train on operating all the equipment on the rod grinding line. Will also train on the Thielenhaus and Surfina superfinishers. May need to move between the grinding and finishing machines as production requirements dictate.
