Nucon Packing Operator (Day Shift)
Job Description: The Packing Operator is responsible for operation of packaging equipment located in the NUCON tower area.
Additional responsibilities will include learning the packaging processes associated with SAPAC and the Bulk Bagging packaging areas. Visually inspects color and consistency of product throughout the shift and notify Team Lead, Supervisors, and Dryer Operators if product appears to be out of specifications or compromised in any way
Performs daily and weekly housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the packaging areas
Follows company safety rules and use appropriate PPE and safety gear provided
During shutdown periods some general cleaning, painting, and other maintenance projects may be assigned to complete throughout the facility

This highly visible position is the Production Facility at our Harrisonville, MO location. The Machine Operator is involved in machine start up/shutdown and operation of all the equipment involved in production on the liquid packaging line including: unscrambler, filler, SWF trayformer, SWF case sealer, Hartness case packer, and palletizer/stretch wrapper.
What you’ll do:
· Perform operational set up/shut down and maintain operation of packing line equipment.
· Establish familiarity with raw material part numbers, sizes of bottles, and box quantities.
· Clear jams and restart equipment such as sealer, caseformer, and Hartness/Standard Knapp.
· Hand stack cases of finished goods onto pallets in the event palletizer is non-functional.
· Identify alarms on various equipment and appropriately and safely clear jam to restart packaging line.
· Apply and understand proper lock out/tag out procedures for each piece of equipment assigned to operate.
· Load bottles into unscrambler and/or load 200 oz. bottles directly onto conveyor.
· Load bundles of corrugate into caseformer executing safe lifting techniques.
· Inspect finished product for defects at various points on the packing line.
· Regularly perform housekeeping duties to keep work area clean and neat.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

No Fee To The Employee
Responsible for the automatic machine. Quality of machine, replacing of valves, cylinders, etc. Start up and shut down each machine. Load parts in bowls on the machines. Watch for mixed parts and jams. Perform SPC checks, including performing visual inspections and gauging. Sometimes responsible for packing parts. Perform housekeeping as required to keep clean area.
All positions require previous work experience in a similar work setting. Work Keys will be accepted in place of a High School Diploma or a GED. All shifts are 2nd and 3rd shifts and B shift (4pm – 2am Monday – Thursday).
The Bag Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the bag lines to safely deliver the highest quality products at the best efficiency and lowest scrap possible through the use of effective manufacturing methods. Bag machine operator personnel report to the Shift Leader.
• Set up and operate bag machines and supporting equipment according to product specifications and as scheduled by management in a timely manner
• Lifting approximately 30lbs boxes of materials (spouts/caps) to load into machine.
• Pushing and pulling 80 to 90lbs rolls of film from lift to load on machine.
• Perform all normal running adjustments to the equipment as required to produce the product to specification; record all changes.
• Responsible for printing and supplying correct parts label to the inspector/packer
• Make tape splices at the bag machine packing station to the bags where needed (Inspector/Packer applies splice tape to helical bags and at the two out machines)
• Schedule the supply of all raw materials, packaging materials, and supplies to the machine from the warehouse

• Do routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting, in case of failure and make repairs as directed, advise management of major problems, and aid the maintenance personnel as required for major maintenance
• Responsible for doing scheduled PM work to machine.
• Ensure that quality standards are upheld and that any suspect or defective product is reported to the Shift Leader to be appropriately destroyed or placed on hold for the Quality Facilitator's review and decision
• Relieve inspector/packers, cappers, tube appliers, or helical inserters for breaks and as needed
• Work as a valuable team member throughout the production room to accomplish the business goals:
o Help inspector/packers as needed
o Help other Inspector/Packers and machine operators if needed when machine is down
o Learn to run all machines and to pack all bags
o Assist and work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Technical resources to ensure that issues are being addressed to optimize the performance of the line
o Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements
• Communicate in a positive and respectful manner to resolve all issues
• Complete all documentation accurately
• Ask for help when the need arises
• Assist in the training of other personnel in proper maintenance, operation and set-up of equipment according to approved company procedures.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic computer skills
Ability to read and interpret standard measuring tapes. Good troubleshooting and mechanical skills. Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision
