RN, Pool - Circle The City Respite Center
Summary of Position: The Staff RN position is a key role in supporting the nursing department of the Respite Program. The Staff RN assures and participates in the overall nursing care provided in the respite center for the shift, assesses significant nursing and other challenges from the prior shift, and communicates the impact of these issues with appropriate personnel. They are also responsible for providing nursing support, directing patient care staff, and problem solving for the challenges of the shift including patient behaviors and medical complexity.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Responsible for administering medications and treatments to patients assigned skillfully and correctly; documenting per policy.
2. Ability to work with difficult patients and those with mental illness
3. Responsible for giving and receiving report at change of shift
4. Coordinates the occasional admission of a new patient over the weekend
Basic Knowledge and
· Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to provide effective leadership for assigned staff and to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and health team members required
· Computer proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information required including use of electronic health records
· Understanding of substance and mental health issues
Experience and Education:
· License to practice professional nursing in Arizona required
· Minimum of 2 years nursing experience as a licensed RN required
· Experience with underserved population preferred
Physical and Mental requirements:
· Position requires extended periods of sitting and standing
· Position requires regular bending and reaching, including transfer of patients
· Must be able to lift, carry and push 20 pounds on a regular basis
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
· Able to adapt to rapid, unpredictable work flow

The Patient Access Coordinator demonstrates the ability to competently perform the functions of Radiology Scheduling with a high degree of autonomy and independence. Negotiates exam appointment times within the radiology information system to meet the needs of the referring services and departmental resources and to meet departmental standards of performing all radiology procedures within 24 hours of receipt of the initial order.
