Mi75 Interchange QC Field Inspector
This position provides supervisory services to support the site quality program on projects, typically overseeing quality control activities for multiple disciplines, multiple areas and / or multiple shifts including larger or more complex scopes of work. This position may be under the direct supervision of the Site Quality Manager or, on smaller projects, the individual may be required to perform the duties of a Site Quality Manager. The purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions listed below with the overall objective of providing our clients and Fluor with projects that comply with the quality requirements stipulated in our prime contracts.
Monitor/inspect project and construction execution by regular surveillance, inspection and/or formal planned audits
Supervise Quality personnel who perform audit, examination, inspection, surveillance and/or testing activities in accordance with the project quality program
Ensure that documentation is being completed, signed off, and compiled as the work progresses so as to support turnover and record retention activities at the project site
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
Other duties as assigned
Four (4) years of quality assurance/quality control work experience with at least two (2) of those years having supervision experience
Certification by a recognized authority (i.e. ASNT, AWS, API, NACE) is preferred; note that, as a minimum, personnel who will be performing welding examinations, inspections and/or reviewing of radiographs must be capable of taking and passing Fluor's internal certifications for visual examiners/inspectors and radiographic interpreters
Intermediate or expert computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic or intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well with others
Ability to speak/read multiple languages

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Performs and records complex in-process and final inspections on cables, components, and assemblies including prototypes, samples, RMA's and First Articles as required with minimal documentation.
Ensures that inspection techniques are applied to products according to product drawings, procedures, and test specifications.
Recognizes and suggests improvements to inspection documents.
Communicates potential inspection and team problems to the Inspection Supervisor.
Supports/performs training for inspection certification.
Assists operators to be aware of customer specifications and product requirements.
Understands and uses various sampling and SPC techniques.
Responsible for meeting schedules as assigned by the Inspection Supervisor.
Responsible for quality level of work performed.

Responsible for all day to day inspection duties including inspections, data entries, and verification responsibilities.
Capable of using complex test equipment and mechanical measurement tools for inspection.

Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Education:
Cross-trained on multiple inspection processes and products, including prototypes, RMAs, and first articles.
Two or more years of mechanical inspection.
Understands the use of complex mechanical test equipment and mechanical measurement tools.
Basic electrical knowledge such as continuity, isolation, capacitance, open and short.
Experience with various measurement devices (caliper, multimeter, micrometer, etc).
Experienced in problem solving pertaining to products and processes.
Knowledge of sampling and Statistical Process Control Techniques.
Understands and follows standard procedures.
Basic computer skills including BPCS, QP3, and MS Word and Excel.
Ability to work in a manufacturing warehouse environment, which may include: generally light physical exertion, sit or stand for long periods of time, repetitive movement, normal to restricted injection-molding environment, must wear safety glasses, meet shop floor requirements and potential exposure to plastic fumes, sharp implements, heat generating equipment, and mechanical inspection equipment.
