Under general maintenance supervision, the Mechanic/Millwright performs skilled mechanical work in support of the overall facility operation and in maintaining operation of the process plant and power generation plant in compliance with established production schedules and plant output requirements

Performs basic pipe fitting runs with all types of tubing and piping material (welded, threaded, PVC cement)
Has basic knowledge and understanding of various types of rigging techniques and methods, is able to identify and understands weights and load limits for rigging sizing and type.
Has basic experience and knowledge of all types of conveying systems (including belt and screw conveyors), is able to change idlers, rollers, hanger bearings, installing belt clips and splices, stub shafts, and understands conveyor belt tracking philosophies.
Possesses basic skills with interpretation of sketches, blueprints and drawing.
Performs basic facility machinery and equipment inspections, adjusts or replaces worn components as required, lubricates all facility machinery routinely and makes necessary adjustments to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently.
Uses equipment manuals or system database for referencing and troubleshooting.
Consults with operations and works cooperatively with facility operators, ensuring that facility machinery is being repairs as requested.
Possesses basic welding and torch cutting knowledge with the ability to pass a structural welding test from the American Welding Society (AWS)
Has understanding of and safely operates basic machine shop tools and hand tools.
Provides basic directions to trainees, helpers, and other support personnel assisting in the maintenance activities.
Completes work order corrective actions, log books as required in a clear and legible manner, and ensures accuracy of time reporting on all repair activities.
Follows facility lock-out/tag-out procedures and program.
Has an understanding of hydraulic systems and ratings for pumps, hoses, fittings, etc..
Is able to execute laser alignment on coupling drives for fans and pumps.
Can do basic math with fractions and decimals.
Uses personal protective equipment and follows safety procedures in performing job functions.
Can identify different bolt sizes, types and grades.
Can identify different bearing types and styles.
Has basic fabricating skills and is able to torch cut steel plate and structural shapes.
Has fork lift, JLG, hoist and mobile crane operator certifications
Is self-motivated and plans details of work that has been assigned with little supervision. Determines the basic tools, parts, supplies, and equipment necessary to perform the job.
Is constantly alert to unsafe working conditions and is certain that all safety precautions are being used and that work is conducted in a safe manner.
Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area, and wears all personal protective equipment at all times.
Attends and participates in scheduled training and safety programs. Knows, understands and complies with all company safety regulations and procedures.
Attends pre-job safety briefs/tool box talks, utilizes and follows Job Safety Analysis for repairs when available.
Has a good safety record and demonstrate ability to follow all facility safety procedures and programs.
Is able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
Is able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, working on grating or climbing for extended hours.
Frequently is required to lifts and carry 50 LBS, push and pull 100 LBS.
Occasionally is exposed to outside heights as high as 225 feet above ground level and frequently works off scaffolding and ladders.
Frequently is exposed to extreme heat and adverse weather conditions.
Must be full-face respirator qualified.
Has a minimum of eight years industrial mechanical/millwright experience.
