ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Monitors and removes ash from the ash handling system in the pulp dryer and assists with pulp handling functions.
Efficiently and safely performs general cleaning, ash handling, shoveling, sweeping and washing.
Assists in various jobs, helps in case of pulp plus up and fires.
Does wet and dry pulp reclaiming.
Maintains and cleans rock and coke conveyor and bunkers.
Safely drives skidloader.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Works overtime as required.
Work Environment: Employees are exposed to wet, humid, extreme heat and cold.
Works near moving mechanical parts, therefore lockout procedures are required. Working in elevated areas. Employees are exposed to lime dust, pulp, coal dust or fines, CO2 or SO2 gases, and work around explosive materials.
Noise levels are above 85db. Personal Protective Equipment is available and must be worn as required.
Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds (greater than 50 pounds requires assistance). Must have ability to access bobcat/skidloader and operate hand and foot controls to run machinery.
Wears appropriate personal protection equipment. Climbs stairs and moves quickly on all levels of pulp dryer. Walks and stands the majority of the day.
Frequently, will twist, bend, squat and kneel. Able to complete cleaning activities in drier to maintain a safe, clean work area. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures and MSDS information, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be able to understand and carry out basic unwritten or oral instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively.
