Job Core Responsibilities
This position reports to the General Manager along with other Manufacturing Specialists. The incumbent supervises hourly Production Associates (and Maintenance Associates when deemed necessary) and manages manufacturing operations.
The products vary in size, quantity and configuration, with quality, cost, delivery and safety being the primary focus.
The incumbent is responsible for the quality and quantity of work produced in the area, maintaining tools, equipment and facilities to the level required for safe and efficient operation, and ensuring the general work area is kept clean and safe at all times. They are also responsible for personnel issues of their subordinates (absenteeism, conflict resolution, performance appraisals, etc), participating in the development of plans to meet departmental goals, improving work methods, motivating employees, training employees and properly assigning resources for optimum efficiency.
The position requires knowledge of carbon processing procedures, inspection standards, processing equipment, tools, facilities and computer systems/software.
Organize personnel to maximize all available resources to keep manufacturing cost low while maintaining superior quality and delivery
Achieve all production objectives through proper planning and resource assignment.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment that will ensure the safety and general welfare of the employees.
Manage production in order to provide high quality products that meet or exceed specifications.
Work with other Manufacturing Specialists to efficiently plan resources (equipment, manpower and information) for 24/7 operations.
Foster sound labor relations needed to achieve the goals and objectives of the company
Ensure all operating supplies are readily available in order to meet production requirements. This includes thermocouples, lampblack, rigid graphite felt, process gasses, furnace filters, etc..
Create, compile and organize processing data within computer systems and hard copy files.
Manage and coordinate shipping and receiving of raw materials, supplies and finished products into and out of the plant.
Education: Associate degree in Technology, Manufacturing Management or equivalent experience (i.e. significant experience in manufacturing technology and a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing management experience in CNC machining, testing / development ;laboratory or heat treating / processing of Carbon composit materials.)
Previous experience and/or training: Three (3) years manufacturing supervisory experience and/or experience in the manufacturer of Carbon Composites.

Optical Pattern Operator
Job Description: :
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control has an opening for a Pattern Operator at the Orlando, FL facility.
Sets up, operates and adjusts a variety of photolithographic production equipment used to perform required operations and tests on production parts with optical patterns. Additionally sets up and operates manual, and computer controlled equipment, such as coat, deposition, cleaning, and similar photolithographic equipment used in optical applications.
Works under general direction and from production schedules, manufacturing procedures, process, and written or oral instruction. Use knowledge of photolithographic process to perform production of optical patterned parts.
Operates and carefully adjusts parts and materials into fixture with proper alignment for operations.
Use manual and computer controlled equipment to apply pattern and deposition masks on optical parts to ensure proper placement of materials.
Works in cleanroom with delicate optical components which are highly sensitive, precise and require special handling.
Performs metal lift off and etch processes to create micron sized features.
Uses gages, microscope, electronic instruments and small tools to check dimensions, handle materials and prepare parts for subsequent operations.
For processing of optical patterned parts; uses small hand tools, scales and measures, mixes materials for processes according to production specifications. Set up certain processing units according to process specifications and instructions. Processes performed are one or more of the following: acid and solvent cleaning, coating, baking, etching, exposing, developing, stripping and aligning. During processing may adjust and modify process within normal parameters to compensate for specific conditions. In case of major deviation supervisor and more experienced personnel will provide guidance.
Loads, monitors operation and unloads components from ovens, cleaning stations and marking machines associated with optical patterned parts.
Before, during and after process steps, performs checks and tests to verify that materials meet pre-determined specifications. Maintain production and operating records and logs to document processes performed, product completed, quality and operating data.
Checks product being fabricated/assembled for conformance to specifications and standard using manual and automated evaluation equipment.
Observes all safety precautions when using process equipment and hazardous materials. Follows directions and procedures to maintain specified level of cleanliness in work area.
Cleans and performs routine and/or minor maintenance, tool repair and any other area related assignments as required.
Requires significant attention to detail for production activities and documentation to maintain compliance with Mil. Standard requirements.
Assists and familiarizes other employees as required; works in a team environment.
This position may be 7-Day Continuous operator working a 5/40 work schedule. Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd according to the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment or with production equipment/test machinery.
Experience with semiconductors, wet/dry chemical processing, or wafer fabrication/inspection.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process plans and flow diagrams is required.
The ability to work in a 1k cleanroom and wear cleanroom attire for extended periods is required.

To prepare patterns for assembly and to prepare soluble cores for pattern molding; wax welds multiple components using fixtures to maintain dimensional conformity; repairs wax patterns and soluble cores in accordance with quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Objective: to assemble pattern components and/or make dimensional alterations to patterns.
A. Reads techcards and engineering instructions.
B. Assembles wax components into visually and dimensionally acceptable patterns; may use specialized fixturing.
C. Modifies patterns or soluble cores using various hand tools and wax materials.
D. Inspects modifications with special gauges and other measuring devises.
E. Occasionally inserts ceramic cores in wax patterns and maintains dimensional integrity (TBO only).
Objective: to fix broken or damaged patterns and soluble cores and restore to dimensionally acceptable condition.
A. Replaces broken features by wax welding fragments or by using other wax supplies to reconstruct missing areas.
B. Fills voids and reforms damaged contours by attaching and shaping stock wax.

A. Removes flash, mismatch and other surface positives using a variety of hand tools and materials.
B. Fills or patches negatives using paint wax, melted stock wax, hot pencils and other tools and materials.

Responsible for numerous clothing and individual equipment design projects in the areas of: Field clothing, combat clothing, ballistic (blast debris and body armor), chemical/biological protection, dress uniforms, pockets/pouches, cold weather clothing and gear, reliability, maintainability and sustainability in mind. Work as a specialist with responsibility for planning and conducting complete projects related to the design and development of master patterns, production patterns, grading systems and graded patterns in support of complex, multi-garment prototype development of military protective clothing systems.
