Position Title: Die Cast Operator
Location: White Bear Lake
Hours: 10: 15pm-6: 45am
Pay rate: $12.75 ($100 monthly attendance bonus offered as well)
Highly repetitive operation of assigned machines following prescribed process and inspection of parts of quality. Operate machines that are moderately automated, requiring operator inputs or intervention to produce a desired outcome. Inspect and test completed product documenting results, may require movement between work stations in process. Work may involve frequent handling work area clear of debris. Primarily responsible for one of the following areas. Assist in other areas when assigned.
Die Cast description:
-Operate all types of die cast machines
Perform product quality checks and visual checks/cleaning of machines
Perform minor machine maintenance, lead pot filling and maintenance, mold and work cell maintenance/cleaning
Package and label finished product
Perform various tests on parts for quality
Identify problems and provide solution
Communicate quality and maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned
Proficient in running a minimum of five die cast and/or gravity cast machines, including both manual and automated machines while meeting department quality and production standards
Ability to learn general computer skills
Requires reading and basic math skills
Able to wear a respirator
Ability to stand majority of the time
Requirements for the position:
-High School Diploma/GED
-Tour first and then a start date will be assigned
Lifting Req: Routinely lift and /or move up to 50# and occasionally lift up to 60#

As a coater operator you will have a great responsibility to work in a team. You will spend most of you will be involved in the following:
- Operating the coating equipment, which includes loading and unloading rolls, maintaining a supply of coating liquid to the coating head, and proper monitoring of process parameters
- Constantly monitoring product quality and take appropriate corrective actions when required.
- Working with other team members to conduct rapid changeovers on the coating lines.
- Accurately capturing and record necessary operating data
- Effectively working with other team members to troubleshoot problems and implement improvements
- Participating in all plant safety training and operational improvement activities.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work area.
- Assisting in equipment maintenance and routine clean up
- Mechanical aptitude as demonstrated by prior experience or education.
- Flexible, ready to accept new assignments and respond quickly to issues in the plant
- Good math skills, ability to read gauges, tape measures, add, subtract and multiply.
- Must have good overall work record (attendance, job performance).
- Must be willing to work overtime as requested
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without mechanical assist

Job Description and Qualifications:
PVD COATING OPERATOR
Responsible for PVD coating of various cutting tools, this includes receiving products to be coated (internally and externally), prioritizing product flow, cleaning and/or verifying cleanliness of products to be coated.
Perform all activities in a 100% safe manner and adhere to all KMT EHS guidelines.
Operate PVD Coating Reactors per specific procedures and/or work instructions. This requires the monitoring of temperatures, gas flows, vacuum levels and process timing while reporting and/or correcting and abnormal occurrence in the operation of the furnace or reactor.
Prepare products for coating which includes, cleaning, assembly and loading of heats.
Prepare products for next process step which includes, unloading PVD Reactor, verifying product quality specifications are met and if necessary the disassembly of heats.
Maintain inventory of and order supplies as needed.
Require knowledge of applicable hazardous materials including safe handling and disposal.
Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment problems.
Responsible for required preventive maintenance of equipment such as seals, shield change, filaments, etc.
Additional duties as required.
