Core & Coil Assembler
This position is hiring for 3rd shift.
Must train, develop skills, and demonstrate proficiency in all of the following work center areas: E- Assembly, Core & Coil Assembly, Booster Assembly, Cleat and Leads, and Internal Wiring. In addition, may be required to perform repairs inside & outside of tanks in Department 32 and Department 36, as well as train other less experienced employees.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive assignments and instructions from supervisor - both verbal and written. Follows drawings, Bill of Materials, and other established manufacturing procedures. Coordinate and communicate with supervision, planning and Quality.
Stretch and set up core.
E assemble all windings to the Core.
Cut fix and spread core clamps.
Set up Pressing equipment and Press unit to Engineering Specifications.
Lock in unit.
De-rig and Top Yoke.
Assemble and wire the reactor
Perform work in other departments as needed
Have the ability to look up NC's
Pull-in and complete Core & Coil Assembly for pre-lead ratio/inspection.
May work in Med Power, Large Power or EHV product lines.
"Opr. 35" outer cylinders, end pack out, footbars and phase barriers.
Crimp & insulate connections.
Assemble Cleat & Leads Assemblies to unit (HV, LV, Top racks).
Build and assemble Booster Unit complete (set up core/e-assembly through wiring) as needed.
Will, as required, perform repair work on oiled component in and out of the tank.
Resistance Braze Coil Conductor Leads & Cleat & Lead connections as required.
Make minor repairs and machine maintenance. Write work orders for the repair of tooling and equipment.
Layout and assemble Cleat and Lead Racks for mains and boosters.
Assemble NLTC to cleats
Stack shunt steel for both the top and bottom of the internal
Write work orders for the repair of tooling and equipment
Perform work in other departments as needed
Have the ability to look up NC's
Braze subassemblies (terminal blocks, bus bars, external assemblies, etc.) as required.
Forward all paperwork to responsible personnel as required.
Contamination control, vacuum, magnetic seeps and preventable measures.
Keep tools, equipment and work area clean and orderly. Trains on 5S.
Follows all safety procedures and policies of company.
Perform other work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of brazing equipment, wire and cable cutters, grinders, disc sander, band saw, portable scaffolding and steps, hydraulic crimpers, hydraulic jacks, pressing equipment, air pallets, chains, hooks, clamps, coil lifting spiders, overhead and jib crane, table saw, shears, various hand tools and others.
Materials used in this position include wood, cotton and crepe tape, connectors, metal and fiber bolts, and threaded stock, paper and fiber tubes, cable, buss bars, glue, pressboard, switch gear, silver solder, cleat and lead assemblies, assorted conductors of various size, top yoke, core assembly, windings, wood supports, spacer rings, insulating material, wood blocks and others.
S/he works under general supervision. Precision work and care required preventing major damage to components or unit. Operators work at heights up to approximately 18 feet. Stacking operation presents additional hazards because of sharp edges on steel. Assembly operations require mental and visual concentration to ensure compliance with engineering and quality specifications. S/he must be able to work in confined spaces, including working inside tanks. Working conditions are generally good.

Assembler - Machine Operator
Load Brass into Plastic Molding Machine, inspect molded fittings for defects to include but not limited to, grease, burns, flash, or anything unusual. Package fittings in accordance with posted guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for finished product inspection, to include quality, quantity, physical appearance, and packaged parts.
Trims parts using a pneumatic cutter and/or knife, inspects each part for defects in appearance. Also inspects each part for physical problems. Reports any problems immediately to a supervisor.
Sorts and bag parts in the prescribed manner as per company policies.
Runs and loads an injection molding machine with brass inserts and inspects the parts for grease, burns, flash or anything unusual.
Package brass fittings in accordance with company requirements.
Ensures all safety rules are adhered to at all times.
Keeps work station clean and orderly at all times.

Print labels that include part number, job number and heat number of material and affix to parts.
Sign work order and move LeanKit card to inspection.
Make proper labor and time reports.
Work in a clean and orderly fashion to maintain area standards of 5S.
Participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Interpret sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
Select and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, griders and shapers.

Essential Job Functions:
Brazes (bonds) together components to assemble metal parts as specified by layout, work order, or blueprints, using hand torch,
Places and brazes parts into compressors within units.
Guides torch and rod along joint of work pieces to heat to brazing temperature, melt braze alloy, and bond work pieces together.
Cuts carbon electrodes to specified size and shape, using cutoff saw.
Removes work piece from fixture, using tongs, and cools work piece, using air or water.
Cleans joints of work pieces, using wire brush or by dipping them into cleaning solution.
Examines seams and rebrazes defective joints or broken parts.
Connects hoses from torch to regulator valves and cylinders of oxygen and specified fuel gas, acetylene or natural.
Turns valves to start flow of gases, lights flame, and adjusts valves to obtain desired color and size of flame.
Brushes flux onto joint of work piece or dips braze rod into flux to prevent oxidation of metal.
Aligns and secures work pieces in fixtures, jigs, or vise, using rule, square, or template.
Melts and separates brazed joints to remove and straighten damaged or misaligned components, using hand torch or furnace.
