Read prints, set up and operate coil machine(s) and have the ability to set up and operate conventional, special purpose and computerized numerical control (CNC) machines.
Interpret drawings and material selections
Setup the coil machine per the drawing
Pull material and issue to work order in the ERP System
Measure, mark, scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guide for subsequent machining. Understand the use of calipers, micrometers and dimension on a tape measure.
Roll coil per print and determine if adjustment needs to be made in order to meet inspection criteria.
Verify conformance of finished work piece to drawing and all specifications. Transfer heat number to machined part.
Print labels that include part number, job number and heat number of material and affix to parts.
Sign work order and move LeanKit card to inspection.
Make proper labor and time reports.
Work in a clean and orderly fashion to maintain area standards of 5S.
Participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Interpret sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
Select and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, griders and shapers.
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
Check and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
Train and become certified in Liquid Penetrant Testing.

Coil Maker - Apprentice (1006-773)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Set up and operate no more than two gear shaper and/or hobber machines to generate various gear tooth forms such as, splines, spur and helicals on a variety of gears, rotor hubs, spindles, spline shafts, lock washers and similar parts.
Work from operations sheets, parts drawings, blueprints and general instructions to set up machines to perform such operations as rough and finish generating of spurs, helical, I.D. and O.D. spline teeth and nay other work suitable to machine.
Plane, groove, or slot metal parts such as castings, forgings, and steel stock in rough finish form.
Layout work and coordinate machine set up to establish correct position of teeth per blueprint.
Work includes angles, radii, facing, involute profile, lead error, cutting keyways, slots, dove tailing and in some cases the removing of teeth.
Secure and install suitable holding fixtures, centers, cutters, etc.
Determine change gear ratios using handbook formulas and install gears to obtain correct relationship between cutter teeth and workpiece.
Determine correct feeds and speeds according to material and depth of cut using charts or handbook formulas.
Indicate holding fixture and cutter and designated diameter of part to maintain concentricity.
Monitor machine operations, measure part and check finish visually.
Check finished dimensions to close tolerances using micrometers with pins, adjustable gauges or such fixed gages as spline root and pitch diameter snap gauges.
Have first part checked by working leader or supervision.
Instruct lower grade operator and perform other related gear duties as directed.

Cleans joints of work pieces, using wire brush or by dipping them into cleaning solution.
Examines seams and rebrazes defective joints or broken parts.
Connects hoses from torch to regulator valves and cylinders of oxygen and specified fuel gas, acetylene or natural.
Turns valves to start flow of gases, lights flame, and adjusts valves to obtain desired color and size of flame.
Brushes flux onto joint of work piece or dips braze rod into flux to prevent oxidation of metal.
Aligns and secures work pieces in fixtures, jigs, or vise, using rule, square, or template.
Melts and separates brazed joints to remove and straighten damaged or misaligned components, using hand torch or furnace.
Selects torch tip, flux, and brazing alloy from data charts or work order.

This role, supporting MRI, understands the function and design of RF circuits, RF electronics, antennas and their application in the design of high power Body Transmit/Receive coil and low power receive only coils. Coil Tubing Operator / CDL Driver
The primary role of the Coiled Tubing service operator is to help with the operation of coiled tubing equipment, rig up and rig down equipment, perform maintenance of equipment, maintain and submit drivers logs and time sheets in a timely fashion, and follow required safety and operational procedures.
Promote and participate in all required safety, compliance and certifications programs.

Coil Winder - 2Nd Shift
Coil Winder reports to the manufacturing supervisor and is responsible for operating basic machines and deburring, or light assembly, in an industrial setting. The position works under close supervision, limited decision-making and limited contact with external suppliers or customers.
Communicates information to others about project status, updates, specific instructions, etc. and reviews item status in MRP and ensures item is logged/closed out based on its current status.
Documents non-conformance and dispositions using non-conformance forms.
Cleans and maintains measuring instruments and test equipment; treats and inspects/tests parts (e.g., routed and deburring operations) per applicable work instructions.

- Ability to work both independently and as a group to meet customer deadlines while exceeding quality expectations
- Ability to diagnose failures sometimes with limited schematics and customer information
- High level of organizational skills and ability to handle multiple orders
- Ability to interface with customers and team members as part of a fast paced, solution based repair process
Minimum Required Experience:
- Associates degree in electronics or related field. In lieu of associates degree military field repair experience a plus.
- 1 year of work experience with the manufacture or troubleshooting repair of RF electronics or related field.
- Experience with MRI RF coils or other MRI related electronics.
- Experience using vector network analyzers.
