Employee is responsible for packaging products printed or preparing consumer shipments of product per customer and company specification. Forklift certification is a plus.
- Package product into the correct cartons or other containers as specified in the works instructions.
- Prepare all necessary paperwork including waste logs, production reporting, time sheets, material usage, ect, to support the above tasks.
- Perform job duties according to customer and company quality and security specifications.
- Perform tasks safely and in accordance with the company's health and safety, attendance and other company policies and procedures. Inform supervision of unsafe conditions or practices.
- Keep work area clean and organized.

Silgan Dispensing Systems is searching for a Coiler Mechanic to conduct Compression Spring setups and monitors and adjust machines as needed. This position is responsible for machine repair and maintenance, including preventive and light electrical. This is an exciting opportunity at our Washington Court House, OH spring plant.

Compression Spring setups on Torin, Samuels and Victory Machines.
Monitor equipment and adjust machines as needed and test gauges.
Repair and maintain equipment, including replacing worn parts and monthly PM's on machines.
Light electrical: trouble shoot blown fuses, replace controllers and heating elements.
2nd Shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm)
$20 -$23/hour plus $.35/hour shift differential
Monday – Friday

What You Need to Succeed:
Experience on Compression Spring setups on Torin, Samuels and Victory Machines is required.
Ability to adjust machines and test gauges.
Familiarization with repairing and maintaining equipment including replacing worn parts and Monthly PM.
Knowledge of light electrical work, including ability to trouble shoot blown fuses, replace controllers, and heating elements.
Ability to conduct quality checks on springs using digital calipers and chart results.

Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams
Ability to work any shift (location is a 24 hour operation Monday – Friday with periodic weekend overtime)
Good communication skills
Be well versed in the application of hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC's.
Experience working on punch and mechanical power presses, feeders and uncoilers
Must be fluent in English
Willing to cross crafts in performing assignments
3+ years industrial maintenance electrician experience
Metal Stamping experience highly desired
Experience on plastic extrusion equipment, including extruders, pullers, coilers and vacuum feeders
Medium to large manufacturing plant experience preferred

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for all operating functions as listed below. Operation of the machines must be understood in total with the focus of utilizing the equipment to meet all the quality and productivity goals as outlined in our quality system. All work instructions must be followed as outline.
RELATIONSHIPS AND AUTHORITIES:
You must work together as a member of your crew, communicating with each other in the normal course of the day's work. This position has authority over no other personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Listed below are the primary activities which must be learned, understood and followed according to work instructions. The normal time frame for completion of training is approximately 1500 hours. The Group Leader and Supervisor will monitor each person's progression and provide any necessary instruction or direction as deemed necessary during the training period.
1.Check with the Inspector for pay-off instructions and any other special instructions as listed in the AS-400 system.
2.Thread the strip into the Coiler Reel. Follow all work instructions
3.Insert cardboard cores, cardboard, foam and interleaving paper as per work instruction for Operations and customer requirements.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Start and remove Interleaving Paper as per work instructions.
2.Remove any scrap or secondary pup coils as directed by Inspection
3.Change ID Plates as specified.
4.Cut cores and paper as needed for coil widths and gauges.
5.Follow all prescribed safety rules.
6.Start, remove and band all scrap balls as per work instructions.
7.Perform all Housekeeping/Maintenance functions as assigned.
8.Band all finished coils per work instructions.
9.Perform all other jobs as assigned.
10. Participation in continuous improvement programs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a High School Degree or Equivalent (GED) and a willingness to learn.

Primary Purpose of Position:
Employee is responsible for banding, racking, and moving coils and transporting them to storage. Employee must be able to operate the controls at the coiler table. Employee is responsible for relieving at the wheel; including monitoring quality, controlling the flow of molten metal from the furnace to the wheel where it cools and is processed.
Essential Functions and
Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
Feed and band coils; take coils off coiler and band.
Monitor degasser for proper working condition, clean every 15 minutes.
Assure Chlorine and Argon tanks are filled to the proper level. Replace tanks when empty.
Check/monitor slab/strip for cracks, blisters, oxides, or other visible damage/defects.
Make sure that all dross in aluminum is taken out by skimming.
Check speed and rotation of degasser shaft; allow metal to run through degasser.
Open furnace and allow molten aluminum to exit through tap hole.
Control rate of metal to fill small tilt furnaces; skim/scrape tilt furnaces.
Monitor metal as it enters the wheel and cools; clean and examine belt and wheel.
Complete wheel/belt sheet including belt condition, spray/sand belt/wheel, and temperature.
Any other tasks as assigned by management including; assisting management in the training of new employees.
Regular, consistent and on-time attendance is required.

Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school education or equivalent.
