· Maintain and repeat formulas for the print inks & top coats that must be matched from lot to lot.
· Hands on knowledge in color matching.
· Strong people skills.
· Knowledge of the lamination & embossing process for flexible films (for wall covering & upholstery).
This position is responsible for matching and weighing up color samples for customers.
- Match colors specific to customer requests (Pantone, Toyo, customer supplied prints)
- Weigh up sample inks as needed
- Maintain meticulous notes on formulations
- Other duties as assigned by Team Leader

Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY As a member of the Quality Assurance (QA) team, the Color Analyst is responsible for day to day color evaluation and final approval of all solid lab dips and initial bulk lots regarding materials for the assigned VF Outdoor Brands. Identify color issues and make recommendations for solutions, assuring corporate color standards are achieved by all suppliers and are commercially acceptable for production.
Own and maintain accurate tracking of lab dips and initial bulk lots in current systems.
Own the communication of color comments & approvals to suppliers and overseas offices.
Create and maintain accurate seasonal color approval books by division and category.
Maintain all color submit files, owning file accuracy and history.
Work closely with RD&D and Materials to ensure production deadlines are met.
Monitor mills to ensure adherence to the department’s policies and procedures.
Maintain lightbox and other related equipment. SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS + 1-3 years of related experience.
BA/BS degree in Textiles, Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Color Science, color evaluation, and/or textile dyeing and finishing experience or training strongly preferred.
International business experience desired, involving tracking and organizing information, and communicating via email with overseas companies.
Excellent color perception required (color vision). Testing required for qualification.
Intermediate personal computer proficiency - preferred programs: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, database systems, PLM systems.

Using color control panels, checks each piece (approx. 100-120 per day) for accurate color and uniform application.
Inspects each piece for any visible defect.
Repairs defective color application and extreme color variances.
Coordinates with department leaders and chemical tech to identify consistent problems and helps develop solutions.
Burn-in and color match
Read Work Order carefully for the following:
Special color options
Check for filler and rag marks, especially on tops and top edges
Check inlays for small voids and large veneer open grain
Check pre-fill application on tops. Make sure Wheelie is being used on all tops. Except for units over 52" high
Check for veneer defects - especially on tops and tall doors
Check sealer application for good coverage over entire unit

While the parent company is big, this division has a very home grown feel – not too big and not too small: it provides support in engineering, processing, color matching and product development (NPD), maintenance, and supply chain. They have solid, liquid, and powder departments, engineering, color lab, sales, and test run / sample departments. The company sells both colorants (only) and masterbatch / carrier polymer solutions. They focus on PP, Styrenes, PVC, ABS, ASA (acrylic styrene), Acetal copolymers. Additives have a wide variety of properties including UV resistance, rigidity, surface properties, etc.
THE JOB: National Accounts Manager, Account Manager, Sales Representative, Outside Sales
No commissions cap – the sky is the limit. You will have mostly windshield time and could possibly make most of your business in your backyard. This position is responsible for producing high-quality Color/Black and White prints by operating several different print devices.
Candidates will be responsible for producing high-quality color prints according to customer print and media specifications. Prepares files for print, reviewing output content and color accuracy. Responsible for operating equipment such as UV Flatbed printers, Photographic inkjet, Eco-Solvent or Latex Banner printers and Dye-Sublimation Fabric inkjet printers.
The hours are:
2nd Shift: 3 pm to 12 am Monday - Friday. May require OT that may include Saturday and Sunday
