The Printer Operator works closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure the printing a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Front-end Operators responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
Responsibility of maintaining activities of the printer/decorator beverage cans with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage.
Ability to operate, safe operation, and the maintaining of decorator equipment.
Communicates all pertinent information between the supervisor, quality control, departments, and between shifts on changes to equipment, production problems or any other related information.
Assists and trains and/or coaching of all new operators as needed or required.
Applies skills, methods to improve plant production.
Inspects product to ensure compliance to quality standards
Responsible in maintaining quality and modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal efficiencies.
Complete and/or administer necessary documentation such as production sheets, schedule, monthly SAFE cards, accident/near miss/hazard reporting and process control sheets.
Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
High School Education/GED
2-3 year(s) in setup/operating/adjusting printing decorators in a manufacturing environment.
Able to operate, read, understand, measuring x rite color density guage, and computers.
Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support.
10 Hour OSHA Certification
Operation of a Rutherford Printer
Beverage Packaging industry experience
Ink toning knowledge

Observe all safety rules and policies at all times with materials and tools.
Receive and follow instructions from team leaders and supervisors.

Perform advanced RIP operations; linearization and profiling.
Train certified operators in RIP software for wide and Grand format printers.
Assist in basic art file setup.
Assist in color matching process.
Assist in scheduling production jobs.
Keep track of consumable inventory.
Assist in equipment research.
Must be able to independently complete a job from start to finish with no supervision.
Must be able to interact constructively with project managers and engineering personnel when necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT DESCRIPTION:
Manufacturing environment - appropriate safety equipment and precautions required such as safety glasses, face shields, gloves, ear plugs, etc.
Fast-paced work as needed. Tobacco free facility.
Will be working around paints and solvents, must be prepared for strong odors and fumes. Respirator equipment provided.
Mandatory overtime occasionally as production requires.
The Printer Operator is responsible for operating printing equipment to print webbing at the highest level of quality and efficiency in a safe manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Obtain instructions for orders that require printing from Open Order Status Report that has been updated by the Production Planner.
Install proper print band and ink as required by the customer.
Record information accurately on Hose Group Printer Quality Check Form (H8.2.4-4003) and Hose Group Printer Width Checks Form (H8.2.4-4004).
Ensure that print band is properly aligned on the web to be printed.
Inspect web for smearing of ink on webbing.
Adjust machine as necessary to maintain proper print.
Following all safety precautions, clean machine at the end of each shift and whenever ink color is changed.
If any nonconformity is found, notify the Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager.
Return completed Printer Quality Check Forms and Printer Width Checks Forms to the ISO Administrator.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment. Use proper safety equipment and follow safety procedures (i.e., lockout/tagout).
Understand and follow quality policy and work instructions.

Assist in other areas within the Hose Group operation.
Supply pallets and boxes to blockers when needed.

2 Color Press Operator (1St Shift)
Corporate Graphics Commercial is seeking a 2 Color Sheet-Fed Press Operator for a press with unique finishing processes. The main functions of this position are: Accurate make-ready, production of a quality product at acceptable speed and delivery to internal and external customers.
Shift is a rotating 12 hour day shift position. Shift hours are 5:00AM to 5:00PM. The position requires 36 hours a week during non overtime periods. During overtime periods the 12 hour O.T. day would be on Sundays and be required every other week. Overtime pay starts after 40 hours.
Example of how shift works: Week 1: Work Monday, Thursday, Friday, Week 2: Work Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday.
Understanding of the printing process to include plate making, paper grades, printing chemistry, and finishing processes.
Identifying and troubleshooting press problems.
Changing required plates, blankets or cylinders.
Practicing preventive maintenance.
Training of new crew members.
Maintaining adequate supplies at the press to minimize downtime.

We are looking for a Printer Operator to join our day shift team at CSG's Output Solutions Center off 144th & Chandler Rd in Omaha!

The Printer Operator operates the various auxiliary components of the laser printing system and inkjet printing systems, including the Oce 7650 and the Infoprint/Ricoh 5000. These are duplex printing systems, the Oce printers using toner and printing BW and the Infoprint using ink and printing 4/c process. The operator also operates the IBM 3900 to print mail tray tags. The operator must inspect the printed output to ensure, correct form type, alignment, and print consistency. The operator must also be fluent in the navigation of the printer driver software (Emtex) and understand the importance of printing jobs in the order required to meet SLA's and keep the inserting equipment running without delays. The position assists in training new operators and provides guidance and assistance to new print operators.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Operate Oce and Infoprint/Ricoh printers and the IBM3900 simplex and duplex printing systems by issuing commands to the printers via Emtex
Ensure print and mail jobs are executed in a timely manner, and mail tray tags are processed as soon as they are transmitted to the print facility
Print AESP and Direct Solutions statements, checks, reports, tags, and Daily Letters, Past Dues, Test Jobs, Reprints and Reruns to ensure proper routing and handling of all printed output
Responsible for new product testing and testing of enhancements to existing products, setting up and executing test jobs, sometimes at a moments notice to meet crucial company deadlines
Answer telephone inquiries, investigate issues, and inform callers of job status. Monitor voice mail and email throughout the shift
In the event a lead or supervisor is absent, operators work with SSC to resolve problems in production/programming/systems, via ITSM tickets and telephone conversation
Continuously monitor printers and take appropriate action when printers require intervention. Do visual quality checks between print jobs
Responsible for catching and notifying management of quality issues
Monitor quantities of paper stock to ensure completion of printed output. Operators are also required to capture, weigh, and record all paper waste that is produced on printers they are running
Assist the Supervisor and Lead in monitoring the usage of print supplies and notify the Print Supervisor when supplies are low
Assist in the training of all new print operators and oversee training
Keep the print facility and climate control area clean and organized
Determine the proper forms required for each print job. Ensure proper alignment of the forms and correct form settings are applied to initiate and terminate the print action
Ensure highest print quality, form quality, etc., check for print carry over, alignment, correct form type, wipeout, completeness of output, ensure print head alignments, and that print heads are firing correctly on the color printers. Also ensure duplicate statements are extracted from all printed output
Ensure daily logs are completed (Production logs and meter readings at three hour intervals). Issue 3 hour production reports in the absence of the lead
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in a production or warehouse is preferred
Meet or exceed attendance expectations. Willingness to volunteer for overtime as needed
Willingness to work in other departments i.e. Mail Prep, Warehouse, etc.
Meet or exceed efficiency requirements related to position
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Understanding of Emtex print driver GUI and be an effective communicator (verbally and written)
Must be able to prioritize print jobs according to contractual mailing standards, and/or inserting floor needs
Ability to occasionally reach, lift, and carry boxed materials and paper webs weighing between 25 to 45 lbs. over an approximate range of ankle to shoulder high
Occasional push and pull with forces upwards of 57lbs necessary to maneuver loaded carts and pallet jacks
Frequent use of both hands to grasp boxes and webs, open boxes, grasp inserts and envelopes, and complete paperwork
Ability to use a personal computer; Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work 12-hour day shift of 6AM – 6PM on a rotating schedule
Ability to work weekends and holidays
Ability to stand/walk for 95% of shift
