Intelligence Community (IC) Senior Officer Core Qualification (SOCQ) - Leading the Intelligence Enterprise: Required for all senior executive positions effective 1 October 2010.
This SOCQ involves the ability to integrate resources, information, interests, and activities effectively in support of the IC's mission and to lead and leverage cross organizational collaborative networks to achieve significant mission results. Inherent to this Standard is a deep understanding of the Intelligence enterprise (or other comparable interagency or multi-organizational environment) and a shared commitment to the IC's core values. Works under the general direction of the Engineering Manager of Motorized Product Applications and is responsible for providing branches and customers with timely, safe, and efficient bid sketches, bill of materials and installation drawings.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assists in the daily activities of the Motorized Product Applications Engineering Group.
Use existing technical information and company guidelines to prepare drawings and bill of materials for assigned projects.
Propose concepts and designs utilizing appropriate Safway equipment relative to customer needs.
At the direction of the Engineering Manager, provide timely technical assistance and solutions to branches through telephone, e-mail, drawings, bill of material support and site visits.

Perform basic calculations to assure strength and serviceability of design.

The Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) is seeking a qualified individuals to serve as a Squad Boss of a Post Release, highly skilled 20 person hand crew and be the mid level supervisor. The primary responsibility is for leadership of highly effective wildland fire suppression and wildland urban interface/intermix situations as well as fuels mitigation projects including hand, mechanical and prescribed fire treatments. The primary purpose of this position is to lead a small (6-10) crew of highly effective and trained firefighters in wildland fire suppression and wildland urban interface/intermix incidents.
These duties can include any or all of the following:
Serves as a highly trained and skilled fire suppression team leader on a Hand crew of firefighters in wildland fire suppression situations. Resolves a full range of irregular or problem situations encountered when performing a wide variety of either highly interrelated tasks or nonstandard fire suppression assignments. Anticipates fire behavior, determines strategy and tactics, directs on-line activities, and takes action to accomplish incident objectives.
Performs various technical duties that involve differing and unrelated processes and methods. Locates line, directs and participates in line construction, backfire and burnout, hazard tree falling, saw lines, pump and hose lays, patrol, mop-up operations, etc. Directs and coordinates all types of related aircraft, fireline personnel and equipment.
Constructs fireline in vegetation and topography. Uses a variety of specialized tools, equipment, and techniques to actively suppress fires. Installs and maintains complex hose configurations. Collects and applies fire data such as fuel loading, tree stand density, fuel moisture, and weather. Operates a variety of motor vehicles to transport equipment, supplies, crew members, etc.
During this time, has responsibility for numerous technical decisions concerning Hand Crew readiness and deployment without technical advice and assistance. Commonly resolves technical problems in situations where quick action is needed and where no technically qualified advisor is available.
Leads a crew of up to ten personnel on prescribed fire implementation projects. Uses prescribed fire tools and equipment including terra, propane and drop torch, and all-terrain vehicles and engines.
Coordinates with project leaders; obtains briefings, weather forecasts; reviews and/or prepares job hazard analysis; previews burn units, project objectives, and burn plans. Accomplishes project objectives in a safe, effective and professional manner; monitoring fire behavior, fire effects, and fire weather on management ignited prescribed fire projects.
Presents formal and informal training programs in such areas as initial refresher courses, fire weather, fire behavior, power saw use, line construction, safety and first aid, air operations, water handling and pumps and hose lays, hand tool use, and other related field courses.
Participates in crew proficiency checks and drills, safety sessions, and fire critiques. Ensures own and other's welfare and safety in all aspects of the assignment. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of tools and equipment to meet individual crew needs, including hand tools, chainsaws, firing equipment, food and water provisions, and personal protective equipment; to ensure assigned personnel meet fire readiness standards on a daily basis. Completes equipment and personnel manifests.
May act as Captain as needed on the assigned crew.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Program management, supervision, and personnel practices and regulations in order to carry out superintendent responsibilities. Knowledge of accepted safety practices in suppressing fires and various other incidents to prevent injury, property damage or loss of life.
Instructional techniques and training development standards in order to develop and implement a crew training program that meets national hotshot crew operations guide requirements for training.
Substantial skills in interpersonal dynamics, human resource management.
Proven skills in leadership in a hand crew environment.
Apply resourcefulness, initiative, and independent judgment to wildfire incidents, all-risk incidents and fuels mitigation projects.
Obtain efficiency and cost effectiveness of hand crew operations.
Effectively manage 13-15 post-release personnel.
Driving Requirement: Possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license is necessary for this position. In addition to the RN job description, the Flying Squad (Resource) Nurse within Fairview Ridges Hospital which is located in Burnsville, MN carries a pager and works with the Administrative Nursing Supervisor and Charge Nurses to support peak workload activities in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and critical situations housewide. This person moves throughout the hospital to assist with special procedures, performs difficult venepunctures, transfers of patients requiring cardiac monitoring, and assists with crisis interventions as needed.

Must be knowledgeable and competent in first aid and emergency procedures (valid American Red Cross first aid card and American Heart Association, or other authorizing agency, CPR card, California Athletic Trainer Certificate), coaching techniques, rules and regulations, and psychology as it relates to sports participation.
Must complete mandatory CIF Coaching Principles training or provide verification of completion.
Must complete mandatory Concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training and provide verification of completion.
Must apply and obtain the Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate (ASCC) through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing if a teaching credential is not currently held; the application fee is $100.

Squad Leader/ Shop Technician- CON
The primary function of this position it to perform advanced systems repair and assembly by performing independent trouble shooting using various diagnostic equipment and manuals.
Check the equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, comply with PPE requirements, and otherwise prepare for duties.
Uses manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to perform independent troubleshooting and repair of construction equipment.
Uses lift trucks, overhead cranes, & other aides to lift or move parts into position to be repaired.
Uses hand & power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & test parts/equipment on construction equipment.
Uses miscellaneous resources and computers to reference parts, get information about parts & enter data into record systems.
Uses tools to disassemble/re assemble parts or equipment; cleans parts with rags, cleaners, power washer; uses test equipment to make diagnostic checks; and controls powered equipment or tools to make repairs.
Climbs up onto, under, & into vehicles to gain access to all parts of vehicle.
Uses overhead hoists, lift devices, forklifts & other aides to move items off vehicle (tracks, idler wheels, blades, etc.) & then to move parts to locations for disassembly, repair, then back to the vehicle for reassembly.
Proficient at performing inspections, do preventative maintenance, repair engines, power train, hydraulic and electrical components.

Uses instruments and computers to reprogram equipment controllers.
SQUAD LEADER DUTIES:
Assists supervisor with performance appraisals
Mentor, coach and develop technicians
Direct day to day job assignments and responsibilities for technicians in squad
Work with squad members to ensure proper T/S techniques, and guiding them to make good decisions
Must have a high school education or GED
Requires four years of work experience with at least two years experience with CAT equipment; Must be proficient in at least two mechanical systems (i.e. transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.) for numerous model lines.
Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb beside, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs; Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 100 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
Must be able to effectively write repair activities on customer work orders; Must have cognitive reasoning and problem solving skills to apply knowledge, written information and verbal instructions in repairing/servicing unusual and/or unknown technical equipment operational problems. Should have exposure to P.C. base equipment and parts information; Can work independently with minimal supervision.
