GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To assist the Commissary Manager or KCN Management in providing commissary operations and services to assigned location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage assigned aspects of supervising, training, scheduling and disciplining Full-Time and Part-Time commissary staff
Manage and accountable for assigned aspects of on-site inventory control including ordering, receiving, stocking product, and processing orders
Distribute commissary menus and order forms to inmates weekly
Resolve and respond to all inmate grievances within 48 hours of receipt
Responsible for meeting delivery times, order form pickup, filling of shortages and reroutes
Responsible for assigned reboots and downloads
Ensure commissary stock is rotated properly
Delivery of commissary list to divisions
Produce Recap Report at end of last delivery day
Ensure all employees know and follow all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the correctional facility where they are located
Maintain and insure all commissary employees follow the policies and procedures outlined in the KCN Best Business Practices Guide at all times
Responsible for assisting with general upkeep of all KCN areas/equipment/products in a neat, clean, and orderly manner and maintain American Correctional Association & American Jail Association standards/guidelines when applicable
Complete miscellaneous duties assigned by KCN Management
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels both in and out of KCN Organization and the correctional facility in a professional manner.
Requires supervisory skills: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Ability to work in a correctional environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills.

Specialized experience include: Manage a commissary store, supermarket, or similar type of commercial retail food store.
Manage a department in a retail food store, Developing, interpreting, or applying policies, procedures, and operating standards for use in a retail food store. Plan, standardize, or control operations in an assigned group of commercial retail food stores. Provide technical advice on merchandising and operational matters pertaining to grocery, meats, and produce, as well as front end operations.
Volunteer Experience: Your experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
