The successful candidate should be completing their PhD or post-doc in 2018 and have expert knowledge in synthetic organic chemistry, modern separation technologies and spectroscopic methods of analysis, coupled with the ability to apply this expertise to the synthesis of compounds labelled with stable and radioactive isotopes. Experience working with stable and radioactive isotopes is desirable but not required. A working knowledge of the related discipline of drug metabolism is also desired but not required.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute specialist knowledge within a multi-disiplinary environment are essential for this Senior Scientist position. The successful candidate must be able to work closely with other departments within and outside Merck Research Laboratories, including Medicinal Chemistry, Process Chemistry and external Custom Manufacturing Organizations (CRO's) when designing and putting into practice labelled compound syntheses. Maintains proper control documentation of medications including lot numbers, ordering of medication and medical supplies. Assists with required cleaning and maintenance of the admix area and the pharmacy department in general to minimize particle counts and improve overall sanitation. Responsible for drug inventory an ordering. Insure accurate date entry into the EHR and Lynx System.
