About the role
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced actuarial student to join the team in our Cork office. You will gain exposure to a wide range of pensions and actuarial services, covering our diverse and ever-growing portfolio. As part of a small team, you will gain excellent exposure to our Scheme Actuaries allowing you to expand and improve your experience. 2Nd Shift Compounder
Following set manufacturing instruction procedures (MPCRs), SOPs and cGMP guidelines, utilized compounding tanks, kettles, transfer pumps, mixers and mills to mix and compound raw materials used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. Perform daily cleaning/sanitation of the compounding department, compounding tanks, kettles, pumps and other equipment used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Following MPCRs, SOPs and establish cGMP practices to manufacture pharmaceutical batches utilizing the various compounding tanks, kettles, transfer pumps, mixers and mills.
Using scales, automated dispensing systems weigh out specified types and quantities of liquid ingredients according to a formula.
Collect water samples for laboratory analysis from various equipment, water ports that will be utilized in compounding the batch.
Perform daily cleaning/sanitation of the compounding department and the various equipment used in manufacturing of the batches.
Performs all batch record documentations, SAP inventory transactions and final bulk confirmations.
Extract bulk samples for laboratory analysis after completion of the batch compounding.
Utilized transfer pumps and the filling station distribution system, transfer batch to the various filling lines.

To compound batches which meet quality and consistency standards in a cost effective, safe and timely manner. Packing and labeling all batches in preparation for shipment to customer of moving into stock.
Compound formulas accurately by weight and by ingredients and ensure that the best methodology is utilized based upon the particular product or mix. Possess and apply working knowledge of all raw materials before use, ie: mixing/heating to ensure quality and consistency in batches.
Utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials used. Possess and apply working knowledge of all pumps, mixers, scales, fork trucks, high density storage units, meters, and computers. Fill out daily scale logs on all scales to be used prior to start of shift.
Any discrepancies notify supervisor. Follow all manufacturing instructions on formula batch sheet using proper compounding techniques to ensure product quality. Properly label all batches submitted to the lab for evaluation.Responsible for filling all batch containers at the proper weights and in proper containers, and Marking all containers with the necessary LPN labels
Applies working knowledge related to safe evacuating of product from all tanks
Maintain inventory information on filling materials and report to supervisor any shortages. Follow all 5S and Good Manufacturing procedures to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.
Proper handling of Allergen products and equipment according to Allergen Control Procedures Responsible for conformance to Food Safety and Food Quality Plans as described in the Kerry Clark SQF Systems manual. Maintains production flow and process documentation
Ability to follow and take direction
Identifies and takes action for variations in raw materials, foreign debris, texture and color
Understands all SOPs (standard operating procedures)
Works closely with QC and determines if batch needs adjusting to reach production specs
Must be able to multitask
Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Thoroughly understands and complies with all safety processes, requirements and process SOPs
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
One to two years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Prior coatings manufacturing a plus, experience in food or like environment blending or mixing highly desirable
Must possess a high school education or equivalent and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical; must be at least 18 years
Must be safety oriented at all times, prior LOTO, GMP and confined space experience a plus
Must possess strong attention to detail, positive attitude, teamwork and adaptability
Must possess ability to accurately follow instructions, good verbal and written communication skills and be detail oriented.
Must possess basic math skills and be able to read, write and comprehend instructions in English
Must follow work rules, work independently, be flexible and be willing to perform a variety of jobs.
Must possess ability to multitask
Prior knowledge of chemicals and hazmat handling a plus
