Blow Molding machine operators will work under the direction of the production senior lead/supervisor to ensure that the company produces the highest quality products safely and efficiently. The blow molding machine operator will be responsible for operating, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining machines throughout the shift.
- Set up and operate blow molding machine to mold plastic products according to specifications: Turn valves to start flow of water and release air pressure to machine.
- Moves machine controls to set timing unit and temperature of heating unit and start automatic feed mechanism.
- Adjust machine mandrel and align mandrel with mold chamber, using wrenches.
- Start molding machine that automatically feeds material from mixing unit to mandrel and to mold chamber.
- Closes chamber to mold product under heat and pressure.
- Regrind excess material and unsatisfactory product for reuse, using grinding machine.
- May weigh completed work-piece to determine accuracy of machine operation.

Machine Operator - Inj. Molding
The Machine Operator - Injection Molding performs basic operation of equipment/machinery; inspects product and documents results per work order/drawing requirements. Runs production safely and consistently measuring all critical areas per sample lot size. Utilizes hand tools to deburr, de-gate, or polish and package all production in accordance with the router steps and stamps off operations before moving to the next operation. Maintains 5s work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift. Role may include other supporting tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor or Lead.
Reads blueprint drawings, work orders and other written materials to understand customer specifications and requirements for producing their parts to ensure conformance to quality requirements by using measurement gauges such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparator. Prepares any required documentation.
Inspects parts Operates production equipment such as CNC lathes and mills to produce or process parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, without rejection, in a fast paced work environment.
Meets ongoing production quotas while working within very close tolerances in a machine-shop production environment.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; informing supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs; and adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains assigned work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles and housekeeping requirements.

Oversee the manufacture of machines and equipment that apply treatments to metals and metal components. These treatments remove defects and can be finished to specific products, for example, artificial aging. The Heat Treat Operator will be working with a variety of metals such as iron and stainless steel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Loading the untreated product in an oven or a tank
Adjusting temperature controls for a particular treatment
Monitoring of the process, and adjusting times and temperatures according to the instructions
Removing the products from the oven and air drying, or air conditioning in water baths, oil or chemicals
Cleaning of oxides and scale of parts or sprinkler use steam-cleaning or chemical cleaning solutions

Job Description: Summary
- Job Grade JG1
Set-up and operate molding machines and auxiliary equipment in accordance with standard procedures. Maintain acceptable levels of production, quality and housekeeping in accordance with good manufacturing practices and injection molding environment.
Maintain the cleanliness of the department and all equipment, specifically those assigned but also includes any equipment in the department during your shift.
Assist with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls.
Set up and trouble shooting of injection molding process using systematic methodologies. Make minor repairs to machines and equipment and notify proper personnel of necessary major repairs. Verify correct set-up of molds, presses and auxiliary equipment before machine start up. Establish proper molding conditions. Obtain mold approval at the appropriate time.
Complete training ITRs and any other additional C2C and molding training.
Responsible and accountable for: Following all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures. Ensuring adequate inventories are maintained to meet production needs. Must communicate at a high level with the Lead Mold Techs, other mold techs, mold mechanics, mold repair, and Molding Coordinator. Mold set/pulls/1st piece approvals. Addressing quality issues and equipment breakdowns to maintain production.
Familiar with all the department's inspection procedures and standards. Responsible for the regular and periodic monitoring of product for acceptable quality to the most recent specification.
Maintain records and prepare legible reports, including SPC reports, QC inspection reports, housekeeping checklists, mold cavity data sheets, production downtime reports, cycle time sheets and problem/corrective action logs, etc. accordance with departmental standards and Quality System Standards.
Observe all safety and environmental procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Work with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts, mold repair shop, quality control, and management to facilitate departmental goals.

Minimum requirements for this position include a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Previous injection molding and leadership experience preferred.
Completed coursework in following subjects required (relevant experience may be substituted for individual courses): Schematics, Basic Principles of Mechanics, Introduction to Industrial Technology, Basic Thermoplastic Injection Molding, and Advanced Thermoplastic Injection Molding.
Injection molding experience-pulling, setting, starting molds, passing quality requirements.

Press Assistant I - Roll Tender

Quad is currently seeking a Press Assistant I/Roll Tender to work in the Charlotte, NC Retail Plant. As a member of the press crew, the Press Assistant I (Roll Tender) has previous experience as a Press Asst. II (stacker/jogger) and is able to perform the duties of both positions and may be asked to do so from time to time. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Understanding standard operating procedures of the department
Manage the paper supply inventory on the press and feed rolls into the press
Coordinate plates and tickets for upcoming jobs and hang paper according to job tickets
Set up and make splices, bend and hang plates as well as hang blankets and assist with webbing up press
Ensure correct ink is available for job and check ink fountains regularly
Set fold during make-readies and check trim sheets to proof and complete necessary roll reports and paperwork accurately
Communicate effectively with plate room and paper warehouse and coordinate changing of ink, etch, and silicone totes as needed
Wash up the press and assist with preventative maintenance.
Candidates must have prior press experience as Press Assistant II (Jogger)
Strong mechanical abilities and knowledge of presses and roll stands and the ability to perform basic math calculations are essential.
Good verbal and written comprehension skills are a must.
Must be able to thrive in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
This position also requires the ability to bend and lift 50 pounds continuously, ability to lift up to 90 pounds occasionally, stand long hours, use hands and wrists continuously and use vision in order to identify defects, performing repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with or without a reasonable accommodation.
