The Computer Operator will be responsible for support of a diverse computer network. This job will require experience working in a technical environment and will assist with project required of the team and completing task under a short deadline.

The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program provides all launch processing support functions for the Office of Space Launch (OSL). One of the program's two primary operating locations is Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, and satellite processing facilities O&M, clean room operations, and safety and environmental services.
The PLSSS program seeks a Security Control Center (SCC) Computer Operator to monitor electronic security, facility and other associated systems in support of satellite launch operations on the Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) contract. The Security Control Center is a 24/7 Operation and the responsibilities will include:
Routine configuration changes and audits.
Acknowledge, investigate, and report alarms
Visitor control and badging functions,
Physical security inspections
Emergency communications and response
Other related duties and assignments as required.
This position will require the ability to work all shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd Shifts) on 6 month assignments to any of the three 8-hour shifts as well as shifts that will occasionally exceed 8 hours.

Coordinate computer operational activities with departments/Level 3 staff and resolve any issues that may occur. Coordinate problem resolution among required IT resources exercising strong teamwork, attitude, and skills.
Maintain all backup tape inventories and when appropriate and coordinate the ordering of replacement supplies.
Assess the specifics of a problem and find a resolution as a Level 2 support colleague . Notify appropriate technical sources when assistance is needed. All high and critical priority incidents are escalated to management through timely management alert pages. Also, corresponding concise and accurate summaries known as "DOC"s are written and submitted in a timely manner for reporting in the Daily Operations Call.
Generate incident tickets when issues arise. Track all incident calls/tickets to ensure timely repair of the issue. Follow up with customer on each and every incident to ensure issue is resolved to their satisfaction.
Research, recommend and implement technical and procedural innovation, and where possible automate approaches for SMT processes/procedures (thus providing monitoring and operations SMT efficiencies).
Develop a close relationship with the ITS Technical Service Desk to manage incident and problem resolution including, but not limited to, the documentation of known errors or work-arounds and the prompt update and resolution of assigned Help Desk tickets.
Continually monitor the WAN utilizing monitoring tools and to report exceptions. Escalate to tier II, conditions outside of normal parameters. Basic level problem analysis and data collection relative to the incident will be required. Continually monitor online banking and other key applications for uptime. Escalate to tier II in a timely manner. Continually monitor datacenter environment and is knowledgeable in the operational requirements of all power backup, air conditioning, and other support systems and equipment.
Work assigned hours along with covering additional hours due to staffing requirements.
Ability to quickly learn and master software and business application skills.
Performs all ITS Technical Service Desk functions when necessary (either during the time the Technical Service Desk is not staffed or when assisting the SD in high call volume situations).

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
