Join our IT department as a Computer Operator. In this role you will support and maintain all operational activities as they relate to the Computer Room system (iSeries), peripheral equipment, operating system software, and associated third party software. Provide basic helpdesk support during shift. Other responsibilities include: document systems malfunctions, error conditions and abnormal job termination; perform recovery from errors and job terminations; provide management with timely and accurate reports. Duties include:
Monitor iSeries for optimal performance
Monitor production systems; including iSeries, servers and applications using defined tools.
Monitor batch workload schedules
Monitor backups and restores
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
Support iSeries technical support needs
Communicate with users and department personnel for problem resolution
Answer, monitor, log, and follow up on Helpdesk requests. Alert appropriate personnel when needed.
Provide first level technical support both locally and remotely
Provide technical and troubleshooting assistance related to computer hardware and software.
Tag all computer equipment and enter into Inventory database
Assist with computer workstation equipment moves as needed
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies
High School diploma or GED.
The position requires 2-4 years of related experience.

The Government Health and Safety Operation is currently hiring a Computer Operator to support a large contract in Albuquerque, NM
The Computer Operator will effectively and accurately respond to or properly route IT inquiries and escalations for The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services Internal Service Desk. The CO must provide the customer with accurate and complete responses; provide ticket status information, while meeting and exceeding service expectations.
COs will utilizes a Knowledge Base to locate scripted answers and to thoroughly document information into the database. Escalate requests to appropriate IT departments throughout the CMS Service Desk organization to prevent work stoppage due to technology challenges. Provides guidance to customer on next steps as well as summarizes the contact including the responses and the referrals. Position requires shift flexibility to support a 24x7 operation.
HS Degree and 2 years of experience

The Corporate IS Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Computer Operator
Performs duties necessary to monitor and ensure correct operation of the IBM iSeries computing system, all Servers and Hardware within the UHS Corporate Data Center. Monitors all OpenLink interfaces ensuring proper communication is established at all times.
Key Responsibilities include:
Monitors the operation of all servers, hosts systems and network components to ensure proper functioning and availability to end-users.
Utilizes various monitoring tools as provided such as directly reviewing system console messages, event logs, emails alerts, audible alarms from data center environmental/mechanical device monitors, or automated monitoring tools.
Monitors and serves as first level support during non-business hours supporting all Cerner OpenLink Interfaces.
Opens appropriate help desk tickets and escalates issues to on-call personnel as needed.
Basic working knowledge of the operation of multiple computing systems such as IBM System i and Microsoft Windows-based PCs and servers.
Basic working knowledge of wide area and local area networking sufficient to recognize and respond to network related trouble.
Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook sufficient to create or edit basic documents or open and navigate through existing documents for reference to instructions.
Good verbal and written communications skills to speak and correspond with customers and colleagues.
Good customer service skills with ability to remain professional and courteous in stressful situations.
Duties are performed during an assigned 8-hour shift and may vary depending upon the shift and system work schedule. Shifts are defined as follows:
Third shift: Tuesday to Saturday 11:00pm to 7:00am ET (40 hours/week).
May be required to work scheduled company paid holidays.
May be required to work other shifts in order to provide coverage for other Operator(s), as needed.
