Encompasses two different areas of responsibility and, generally, assigned responsibilities are rotated between associates on a semimonthly basis. The first area requires expertise in the operation of (EDP) equipment, knowledge of Computer Room procedures and understanding of Systems input/output. The second area of responsibility requires knowledge of the policies or rules governing confidential data and check issuance for the Company and subsidiaries as well as expertise in using PC-based software applications. Responsible for accurate and secure production and distribution of over 520,000 checks and over 4,000 EFTs annually. Operates under varying degrees of supervision (moving toward minimum) dependent upon his/her experience level. Is virtually independent concerning the management of his/her operation of EDP equipment and applications in accordance with a prescribed schedule. Works with some supervision and is responsible to make a minimal range of decisions, escalates to manager when appropriate, and updates manager on a regular basis. Position
Operates EDP equipment (mainframe console, PC and printers) for all confidential systems processing and check issuance processing.
Follows the daily system production schedule and monitors job flow to ensure maximum utilization of facilities. Determines corrective action necessary for the various operating system kickouts.
Maintains the Treasury Operations Job Calendar to ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date; ensures that all jobs execute as scheduled.
Supports Programmers in testing/development of new systems.
Reports and documents equipment malfunctions to management and Customer Engineers. Provides daily printer maintenance.
Ensures output meets quality standards.
Trains other personnel on the equipment and operating techniques.
Controls the supply of check stock inventory.
Operates printers in output area to process production, test reports and checks.
Utilizes ESP for execution and management of Treasury mainframe jobs.
Processes check recoup requests on the CDS check writer.
Distributes all computer-produced checks and reports, including correspondence matching, for life insurance divisions (including Integrity, National Integrity and Lafayette Life) and several non-life subsidiaries.
Handles production of manual payroll checks through ADP Enterprise payroll system. Maintains a log of all manual checks produced.
Verifies and realeases ACH (EFT) files at JPMorgan Chase using INFODEX.
Participates in annual off-site disaster recovery exercises.
Develops and maintains written procedures for major production functions.
Performs a variety of duties as assigned by management. Selection Criteria:

PRIMARY FUNCTION The Range Scheduler supports the Melrose Range in New Mexico. Range Scheduler's duties are to plan, coordinate, and schedule local air space and range use for pre-deployment training; Support and update the planning and execution of daily flight and range scheduling

Inspects data center for hardware alarms/problems daily and records pertinent environmental (PDU, A/C) machine readings in daily log, contacts appropriate personnel if a problem is discovered.

Keeps daily operations log timely, updated with pertinent and accurate information about events and problems.
Maintains data center security. Keeps it safe, organized, clean and protected from unauthorized visitors.
Monitors phone lines and exercises patience, professionalism and politeness when dealing with co-workers and end-users.
Monitors system interfaces and all production systems, and refers to any recent email notifications, or standard documented procedures such as the interface spreadsheet, HIS application support matrix and escalation protocols as necessary.
Performs any related duties as assigned by Manager.
Performs daily system back-up procedures, prepares tapes for transport and logs tapes received from vendor, provides signed documentation to Manager.
Pro-actively performs any daily walk around's as assigned and swaps out broken equipment when possible using appropriate forms to log activities or inventory deployed.
Retrieves toner supplies (cartridges, etc.) for availability, to printer and deployment rooms.
